Hello friend, first of all I wanted to thank you since your video made me enjoy my dinner hahaha. According to me, I found your video too entertaining, very well told some aspects of what the survival horror genre is. Oh and another thing, I don't know if you can place Spanish subtitles in your videos or try it since I would like to understand your points a little more, if I understand you but English is better written than heard hahaha. totally agree, I actually like fixed camera perspective in survival horror games, but to me it says more about the presentation of the game than anything. visuals can be used very effectively in survival horror, but they can be used in a variety of ways, its simply limiting to require that sort of camera for a genre categorization
I feel like a lot of people are also nostalgic for that kind of system and control scheme. It’s important to note that I didn’t grow up with classic survival horror games. I started with RE4 and worked my way back. I used to hate the fixed camera angles and tank controls but as I’ve played more and more of the classics, I have gotten used to them. I still prefer modern 3D cameras and controls but As I said, good design is good design and if you can make Fixed Angles and Tank controls work, then that’s fine. I’d just rather play say the RE2 Remake over the orginal for example and if someone had the opposite opinion, that’s fine. Both are excellent games all fronts and both represent peak survival horror in my opinion.
cool vid, not gonna lie it's a bit strange to me the format of having youtube open in the background, but it did work for you to show the examples to your points. It helps that I agree with all of them xD but you've definetly got me interested to see what other game design aspects you're going to explore in the ensuing episodes

I have a correction: The 3DO Port of Doom was thrown together within the span of 10 weeks. Not 10 months. In other words, it's even more impressive it saw the light of day than I made it out to be.
I can still replay San Andreas with pleasure. Vice City and III too kinda but the camera controls weren't there. And IV is a stunning world I had the most fun replaying as a non-criminal... I loved V too but the online has become the most toxic. Still like making and driving races there though... But it's okay to have different tastes. What I absolutely agree with is RDR beating out RDR2 for pure spaghetti western atmosphere. Love the next steps RDR2 has taken too, but 1 nailed it so hard.
I'm glad you can still enjoy San Andreas. And I want to clarify, I did not say those games are bad. GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas all nail everything I have been talking about with this Gameolgy series but there are aspects that make them harder to go back to. Namely in regards to the shooting mechanics and the handling of the vehicles. All of that was vastly improved in GTA4 and then further polished in GTA5. I completely understand about GTA5's online play though. Honestly, I've always avoid the online component of most games for that reason. And you are right about having different taste. As always, everything I say in these videos or in the comments is strictly my own opinion. Nothing I say is fact and you are free to disagree with me. I just apricate you checking out my videos and sharing your thoughts.
Over all great vid but GTA don't hold up????????????? GTA 3D still slaps GTA 4 not my fave but still better then majoirty of new games gta 5 sitll one of the biggest games 10 years later i can't agree with you at all on this
Can’t argue with GTA5. It’s not my favorite game but it’s quality and success can’t be denied. I also wasn’t referring to GTA4 when I said the older games don’t hold up. That one is still pretty rad. As for GTA3 (including Vice City and San Andreas), for me it’s hard to go back to. The shooting is a mess and the vehicle handling is really sloppy. Structurally speaking they are fine, they do everything I’ve talked about in this series right. It’s just hard to go back to them after all the improvements GTA 4 and 5 made. For the record, it’s not my intention to disregard your opinion, I’m just trying to clarify my own. I actually do appreciate you commenting on my videos.

I’m aware. I recorded that video and then a few days later, they announce MvC Fighting Collection. I was pissed they dated my videos but happy that they got that legal nightmare sorted out. Be sure to pick up a physical copy when it comes out, that deal could come undone at a moment’s notice.

The Saturn port is not pretty Solid, its arcade perfect. The Arcade version of this game runs on Sega's ST-V (or Titan) Board, which is identical to Saturn Hardware, only it runs of a cart, not a CD.

Look it up on Steam or GOG.com. There is a great remaster available called Powerslave Exhumed which cleans the graphics up and includes modern controls. Best version of the game by far.
Great job! Love seeing some of the other beat 'em up and fighting games in the franchise. So many great games across so many different genres for TMNT. Keep up the great work!
