Here my youtube videos from the Northfield Caledonia Pipes & Drums, Journeys I have filmed, Paintballing and some of my children. There are also a few miscellaneous videos to see too.
Its 2.2 metres in height and gave us 6m x 5m floor space. This pryis a few years old now so costs would no longer apply. I guess in today’s money it would be about 55 - 60 k
Hi I’m looking to get a extension kitchen renovation can you please recommend the builders who did your fantastic job and please do a video of your kitchen tour would love to watch
We did so much like putting in underfloor heating and plenty of extras. It was also during lockdown so we had time on our hands. At the time it was about 35k
The remaining part yes. Some of it was removed to build the structure. Also there was other work’s going on as the ceilings in the bedrooms were lowered.
Great video! I enjoyed watching. We are embarking on something similar later this year. Approx how big was the old space and how far did you extend out? Best
Hi Thanks for the question. The original space was 4m x 5.5m and we extended it another 4.5m x 5.5m. Good luck with your project its well worth it. And out of all the things we have done, the underfloor heating is a god send. Well worth the money.
I wonder how much this cost them!!! I can't even find a skilled person/company to do any basic jobs on my home who won't do a lousy job then turn around and rip u off....
@@robsands111 in the minute 2:20 in the video, you guys remove the house wall, before you fit the steel beam, before to fit the beam, how do you ensure the house wal will not fall?
Hi Tony I see what you mean.. There were temporary acros both inside and outside supporting the wall with timbers attached through the wall above the steel to the original joists. You can actually see these if you slow down or pause the video. Hope this helps.
There was plenty of insulation fitted. The extension roof is a warm roof fitted with 160mm insulation on the deck. In the old part we fitted additional 100mm sound proof insulation in between the old joists to dim the noise from the bedroom above.
@@robsands111 - I apologize as I didn't see the typical insulation being installed like we see in the US, so I didn't catch it. I rewatched and can see it's some sort of core system. It's definitely not something we see used here commonly, so would love to know the cost benefit. Seems simpler to construct...
Many thanks and no problem. The insulation boards are a compact foam type board. Quite easy to work with and seem to do the job well as well as being waterproof and allegedly fire resistant, very standard in the UK. This room is now the second warmest room in the house apart from the loft conversion I did in another video. Even though the UK weather isn’t great our heating is hardly ever on and the bills have lowered. So something is working well.
The cables were old cat 5 cables out to my workshop that were going to be made redundant following the build. One of the new ducts that we installed now houses the new cabling.. thanks for the comment.
