Like I'm thinking about those I love and who love me back as I hope, but I find comfort too - even if I would lost everyone and everything, there is always Hope and Love. We are a lost cause. A failed experiment. Do so what thou wilt and survive until death tears you apart. There is no true meaning, because everything is random.
I just learned about your choosing to no longer identify as a Christ-follower. I didn't know this had been going on for so long. I understand scrupulocity. I've lived in it, and it's no way to live. When I was eighteen, I was so desperate for God to get me away from the church where I felt so condemned. It took fifteen years before God put a pastor in my life who really spoke to those hurting places inside me. He could have used any pastor at all, but 2015 was when it happened. It's not perfect--things still trigger me--but it's very different now. My heart goes out to you. I'm glad you don't feel anyone in particular failed you. Regardless of your beliefs, we love you. Your Christian music will continue to reach people. I have to admit, I prefer the old style of music, and "better" really is so, incredibly subjective. You are loved. I hope you find your way back someday, or perhaps for the first time. Only God knows your heart then and now.

Thank you for sharing this gorgeous arrangement. You have captured the connection that we have with the Holy Spirit. When my beautiful son died, I was lost. I sat in front of the piano and sang this hymn, & also "Great is Thy Faithfulness" over and over. It was what kept my eyes on HIM and not the horrible circumstances of what I have had to face. I leaned on HIM & I AM ALIVE because of hymns like this. This reminds me that HE took my sins & my burdens on the cross. The Father is so good. Psalm 30:11-12 "You have turned my sorrow into joyful dancing. No longer am I sad and wearing sackcloth. I thank you from my heart, and I will never stop singing your praises, my LORD and my God".
