Show me a video of how to remove Plastic of kitchen door knobs
@rayhayden
@rayhayden 4 дня назад
Our knobs on all of our cabinets in this property had been plastic, but they screwed into the cabinets doors and drawers from the inside of the door. On this project, I simply had to remove the screw from the back side, and hold the knob in my other hand as it came loose. I am unsure of plastic coatings being on door knobs.

Hi Ray do you think the new changes to Kaplan help test takers? Thank you
@rayhayden
@rayhayden 4 дня назад
The INSTANT aid is to folks like myself, who live in other jurisdictions... if the exam is wide enough on being remote, we will be able to test without going to California. The NCBE is dishonestly Objective - sure there is only one answer which COULD even be correct (I checked all 810 of the most recent retired MBE's), but the problem is - and I believe this is WHY a lot of people miss a good number of the questions - is that the "correct" answer is not so good, or flatly sucks. No one in their right mind would go that route, and it is the only correct answer! I have been all over CalBar to ensure that the MCQ's are HONESTLY Objective, and FAIR. Now that they have Kaplan creating the MCQ's, we have a better shot at it. Further, I am also all over CalBar to drop the Written Section due to it being SUBJECTIVELY graded, when a second read occurs, the HIGHER score should be the one used - no splitting the difference, which magnifies how badly the SUBJECTIVE grading is! Further to that, when they dropped the cut score, they dropped the Third Read, which DOES have people now failing, who WOULD HAVE passed, but CalBar said that the number of people failing would be insignificant... sure, unless WE are one of those who WOULD have passed. So, for right now? Yes, Kaplan is superior in every single way to the NCBE, and I am still working on things. However, I told CalBar that if they took the exam back to REMOTE, and I could take the exam from Florida? I would resume testing. The way things look right now? I'll probably be sitting for Feb 2025 forward as need be!

It’s not sticking to my cabinets. Also, every cabinet is manufactured differently. One size does not fit all.
@rayhayden
@rayhayden 6 дней назад
I agree, different cabinets can handle things differently. These are an "easy to install" item where they can be used as such. The company also makes a wide variety of other sorts of latches. In fact, we had broken a couple of these (because they could rotate to be unlocked, or locked, that is a weak point), and I replaced the broken latch with their pother latch,, which must be screwed in. For that, I had to also make pilot holes so that I do not split the wood on those cabinets. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for Allllllll the information Question 🙋‍♂️ sir where l get the Bar oil ?
@rayhayden
@rayhayden 13 дней назад
Bar Oil can be found at many hardware stores, especially those who sell chainsaws. I pick ours up at Home Depot, Lowes, and I am sure Tractor Supply will have it also... as well Rural King... oh, and some of the tractor or mower stores ought to have it as well - because if they have yard (or field) equipment, chainsaws are probably part of what they also sell.

How’s the floor grout holding up? I just got off the phone with Sherwin Williams to get my latex exterior semi-gloss perfect paint color for my grout. But when the associate looked it up the info stated that it’s not recommended for grout. But an epoxy grout stain is what’s recommended. Having said that, I’m interested in learning how well this actually worked for you over time. I’m still open to using the latex exterior semi-gloss paint if it has passed your testing.
@rayhayden
@rayhayden 19 дней назад
Well... years! We don't live in that home anymore, we moved up to Central Florida, but we did the very same thing here, same way. Exterior, Semi Gloss paint... we buy a quart of it and just go with it... test a bit on the tile... make sure we can clean it up. Now, two things happen, because we clean kind of hard core with all of our cats. Sometimes, we will "clean up" a bit of the paint... this is due to bleach and scrubbing over time if a cat makes some sort of mess in the same spot over and over for a while... just touch it up, and that is good to go. The second thing is related to that, what I call a "peel up." For some reason, the seal of the paint to the grout was not solid enough - could be that it wasn't dry when I painted it, or dry enough when I cleaned it up... if it happens right away, I just touch it up, clean it up, and I'm done. The other thing that is GOING to happen is dirt over time... mop a floor, and we spread dirt around while also cleaning it up... over time, it will settle in the grout, low spot on the floor and all that. I can normally do a light scrubbing on the grout lines and clean them up good as new... but if it has been a while - more than a year or two - another coat of paint on the grout line, and it will be good as new as well! The thing for me is that the stains, and other options, cannot really be one and done... this can be - with some maintenance. I don't mind the upkeep of it, and it is painfully easy to do... and this is why we have been using this technique for more than two decades now... it just works for us.
@1Cor13.4-7
@1Cor13.4-7 18 дней назад
@@rayhayden Thank you SO MUCH! Because I found the PERFECT color in a SW paint. As an interior designer, color/shade matching is a huge factor, as is for most people I’d imagine. With the grout stains, color options are just too limited. We also have a cat. He’s a long haired seal point Birman/Ragdoll. He’s absolutely perfect if only he didn’t shed. But boy! Does he shed! Totally worth it though. He’s very puppy like. Anyway, I plan to move forward with your tutorial here for a number of reasons: 1. Being able to get the perfect color/shade for the grout lines. 2. You are absolutely correct in that regardless of what you use, with high traffic areas, etc. there’s no way around periodic touch ups and upkeep. Thank you so much for this tutorial and for your thorough response and explanation.
@rayhayden
@rayhayden 18 дней назад
Painting the grout and cleaning up is not all that difficult. I normally did a room at a time, and would start to clean that up as it would be dry enough to do that. I have never had the latex paint stick forever to the tile, it normally just comes right off. If I rubbed a little too much, I would leave it alone, and just retouch that spot when I finished the room... I prefer to do the painting, then cleanup, then touch up... if that makes sense. I really love the way it looks when it is done, and it is even fun during the process to see how it is going... just brought back some nice memories of the projects... thanks!

What do you mean it dries hard ? Does the paint feel a lil ruff ,like if you primer?
@rayhayden
@rayhayden 22 дня назад
People would believe that "enamel" meant that a paint was Oil Based instead of Water Based, and that can be true, enamel paint dries "hard," but it can be based on oil, water, or other types of ingredients which need to be mixed and used quickly before drying hard (I recall painting the safety handrail outside of a health club, we had to mix the paint at the job, and get right to work using it, because it dried rather quickly, and was harder to use as time ticked on). I won't use any oil based paints. Kilz2, and Kilz3, are water based primers, which I can apply to metal, and then paint over. Higher levels of shine, Semi-Gloss and Gloss may seem to be more scrubbable that flat (or matte) paint, with nothing but reflective properties (and no shine). People have different likes, but the more shine (gloss) we use, the more mistakes in the work will be quite visible... I love the way the light is diffused and bounces off of flat white paint... I should also mention that I like the bright white, not dove grey or such... When we moved out of that property, I only needed to paint that one wall corner to corner, the other walls had been perfect.

Thanks for watching! Cutting it down with water really helps. For losing weight, I am working up a video on my diet. I was not specifically trying to lose weight, but I knew it would happen - because I had this same diet a number of years back (and then, to lose weight). I am now working to keep blood sugar (A1c) in check, and to NOT develop issues which would be related to high A1c numbers. This diet is not difficult to do, which is key to being able to do it for longer periods. Members of my family who had been placed on diabetes medications typically gained weight, and could never stop using the lifelong medications... I refuse to go that route (people should check with their doctors, of course), but my personal decision is to never use life altering medications because I do not trust them, and the side effects are unacceptable to me personally. Exercise is something I am focused on now, to strengthen muscle tone, and I will likely include that discussion in the video I am working on... it is going to be a bit, I need to prepare this one a bit more than my usual videos.

I am using flat right now to cover eggshell paint (neutral colors, not white) that was just applied in two rooms. This 30 year old home has too many imperfections for eggshell's reflective qualities. Not only does it show every imperfection, but it shows lap marks. It is crazy difficult to apply a solid uninterrupted finish on a wall with eggshell without it being marred with roller marks. Flat is so much cleaner looking.
@rayhayden
@rayhayden Месяц назад
I completely agree. That wall was new construction, and they really build for profit, more than quality. I also love the soft bounce of the light off of the flat (matte) paint. I had always been told that the higher the shine, the more scrubbable the paint. This might be true to some extent, but I assure you, with the 19 cats we had in the house at the time? Matte, or flat, paint, was quite scrubbable!

I was trying to make a video actually in my kitchen, and specifically, if we had it positioned to be able to move to different places on our counter (your videos are great for showing everything), then I think cooking, and demonstration of items - and any number of presentation videos would be perfect for this camera.

I have a 42" toro and I do not have that piece to attach the jack mount. How can i get and use a jack like that
@rayhayden
@rayhayden Месяц назад
Google "Toro Jack mount kit," and you should then sort by Images. There are a number of them, so it depends on the version of the mower you have. Mine is a ZMaster 3000, with a 72" deck... but the deck should not have much to do with it... while close (by the nature of a zero turn mower), it is nowhere near the jack attachment. You might need to grab your serial number and check that with a dealer. When I purchased this in 2018, my dealer told me that the price of the mount is not an inexpensive item, but to save some money on that, I should buy the bulldog lift at Tractor Supply, which I did.

Unfortunately, we no longer have that mower - we moved up to a 72" deck, so I don't have the specifics on that one... I do recall that it was a 60" deck, but I do not know the number of the belt to acquire a new one. HOWEVER, I believe the model / serial number of your mower on the manufacturers (or maybe dealer) website, can ascertain that information... I recall, a while back, I had to look something up on the 72" one, and I found what I needed there.

ummm, would you spray the underneath of your car or truck with salt water? Your fence is made of steel, you are destroying your fence wire, no?
@rayhayden
@rayhayden Месяц назад
It is funny that you mention that! I have yet to see any of our fencing being rusty! You'd think that it ought to rust... but it is not. What HAD rusted over the years is the Barbed Wire... THAT rusted good - but LONG before I ever sprayed the weeds on the fences. Another note, those fences are GONE. I was trying to get the weeds reduced - if not eliminated - so that I could pull the posts and get rid of the fencing. NOW - Between PROPERY LINES - I leave the fences - unless fallen trees and such destroyed the fences - which has also happened in the back areas... the POSTS, well, SOME of the posts are still there, especially the huge corner ones... they will remain (the corner ones) the rest will be replaced - but I will not put fencing on those... If the fence is destroyed, I will remove what I can find... but the posts will be replaced. We have wildlife that crosses through, and I want that wildlife to have safe passage through the property without getting harmed by partially destroyed metal fencing. But yes, it is interesting that NONE of the fencing I had ever removed so far... none of it, had any rust at all... just the barbed wire.
@rjiggy07
@rjiggy07 Месяц назад
@@rayhayden It really depends on the quality of the fence in as much as how much if any zinc coating is on the steel. Even with the zinc, which is a sacrificial metal, it will oxidize and let the sodium do it's work on the steel. It does take time though. I've often thought that used water softener wash water would be the ticket. It'd be a good way to repurpose a waste product. But sodium is a serious oxidizer, just ask anyone that salted their newly poured driveway the following winter!! Electrons are natures magic. Oh, and never trust atoms, they make up everything! lol...

I have not had to yet, but I suppose we could. More often than not? I do such work with them that I tend to kill them. The way I deal with all of this is - "Did the tool / item provide me with a positive financial gain?" So far, every piece of equipment, and every tool that I have destroyed with the work I demanded of it? Has done so very well. I will often use things, probably, NOT as intended. I am positive that these chain saws had never been intended to do the hellish work I have put them through!

Hilarious! No, it comes close, the last internal fan slot tilts down, and gave me a little concern, but it fits. Considering that the motherboard must be at a certain level by design of the screw lifts on the bottom, and the mother board is only so high, it is a tight fit. If I need to do anything with the motherboard, I have to remove that huge power supply I have in there. I did change out the graphics card, but I am not certain now that the one I had was a problem... but I was happy that I grabbed the card I did, it did not exist when I built the computer, and no one is going to be making them in the near future either. I think it should probably fit. I do have room to the side of the graphics card.

I did not! I have to think about why I did not, but it probably had something to do with not having a tripod, or way to steady the camera. Looking at the video, all those fences have been removed a while ago, and the silver car was traded in for a 4 wheel drive pick up truck... this means that I was doing "pre" move in work, and we had just purchased this house. I do recall that I kind of got lucky in getting the belt on properly, and that it was a real pain to do... I also did not have that mower much longer... it did tons of work, but it was old (came with the house) and I pretty much killed it... we purchased a new 72" deck Zero Turn ZMaster 3000 mower, and then I removed all of the inner fences around the property, and the fencing along the roads... fences on property borders with other properties remain where some tree or such has not torn them down yet. I can only think that my NOT showing the actual procedure was that I did not have a tripod with me at the time. The DESCRIPTION of the process is correct though. The tension is where that spring is on that mower, and we just need to be safety conscious when pulling off the tension to get the belt on... again, mine went on, and I was lucky.
