The problem is the socio-economic system and the fact that people have got used to the state providing old age services and high tech medical solutions etc. If we simply opted for very little immigration (like the japanese) yes our economic situation would become fraught but society would adapt. People would look after their own relatives, some would suffer, we would find workarounds (whether technological or social) and we would eventually reach a point where the religious and more fecund amongst us would inherit the nation and the problem would solve itself. Instead we are allowing ourselves to be colonsied by foreigners
There is no demographic crisis. The extra group of elderly people will die out in 10 to 20 years and then we will simply have a smaller population where all the young people have a well-paying job so that one of the parents can stay home to take care of the children. As long as both have to work to make ends meet, fewer children will be born. The climate hysteria also plays a role in the fact that young people do not want to have children.
