I’m 3 when I figure out how to make the front-end more pointy on a grippy (sim) circuit, and 4 when I’m struggling with setup or simming on a green circuit
In ACC (GT3 racing), I am comfortable adjusting my style on the fly based on where the car ends up after braking and/or turning. But in F1 2020, my style is way more limited and I need something as close to as 50/50 grip levels to be my fastest. So now I don’t even know what my driving style is which means I can’t tune my car to make me faster. I know that Lewis once said that he just throws the car and sees where it ends up and deals with it. I think because F1 cars are so fast, there is a small window of customisation for optimising them before you just end up losing time. What are your thoughts?
Albon is terribly underrated. Watch his onboards in qualifying, it's mental how he flies through corners so precisely. His stints are also mega, i can't wait for Williams to rise up. Now that you've done Albon and Rosberg, I'd like to put another one in for "Jimmy Broadbent: how thicc Brit is so quick" and "Super GT: How he avoids Barry R."
I also think he knows the art of racing very well. I don't remember the race but this season (2024) he made a beautiful double overtake as a proof of that.
I'm an understeer kinda guy, maybe like Alonso? I like to really use the brake to control the front. A nervous rear under braking is fine, but i want the rear to be sorted out by the time i slap the throttle down. I used to think Rosberg was an understeery driver too, but i was disappointed to find he in fact preferred oversteer and the cars he drove for Williams just happened to be boats.
I feel like driving aggressively and with an oversteery setup is faster but I chew up the tyres quicker, is there a way to do tyre saving while keeping the aggressive style?
