Yo vin. Try researching about the kybalion or the 7 hermetic principles. might be worthy of making video out of it.. would love to know your thoughts. and how it can be applied to life.
I love listening to you! Keep up with the amazing work, what you share is so relatable. Almost 8 years ago I moved abroad from Italy, and I totally agree with what you said about friendship... During these years I filtered the people around me based on values, interests and care. I lost a lot of friends but made many along the way. Since I excluded these people from my life, I am surrounded by an amazing community and a support system that I am trying to protect with all my heart. p.s. I might be in LA next January for work and if you happen to be there I would love to see you!💜
Our filters get better when we eliminate for sure! I felt what you're talking about when I moved from San Diego to Chicago <3 ALSO YES LETS DEFINITELY SEE EACH OTHER THEN :D
Dang that NY office is admittedly very nice. Love seeing the flowers in NYC. Such vibrant colors to the city as seasons change. I think that’s something that I’ve found jarring about LA, as I think have you, since leaving Chicago. There’s less color. Stuff is more monotonous and also color-wise is more monochrome. Just wish NYC wasn’t so expensive lol. I’d consider it a lot more heavily if it wasn’t.
No for real. Jetblue is kind of clutch these days. Other airlines have really been struggling, mostly American, Delta, United, and a couple others. Folks lobbying the FAA have made it possible for airlines to really tone down quality of service even as tickets get more expensive. Less leg room between seats, more overpacked planes, the ability to give your seat away in some cases even if you’ve already paid for it, etc. I think Jetblue by comparison has stayed relatively consistent.
I still swear Idea of You reminds me of another movie I saw, maybe with JLo, but I forget now haha. Also this video’s running fit might be your best outfit of all time. You indeed been missing out on Habit. Y’all heard it here first. Habit > In N Out. In N Out is great because of the price. Habit, however, is only slightly pricier, still cheap compared to most other burger places, and the burger is pretty damn quality.
Lmao your decision being influenced by LA traffic is so relatable. Good tips for piercing decision paralysis. Seems it requires a level of introspection. Values, for instance, and boundaries. I didn’t really understand these too well ten years ago, nor their importance to daily living or social interaction. I find that really interesting because it shows how increasing emotional maturity gives you access to new tools as you continue to grow. It’s almost like leveling up in a video game and getting new abilities and equipment.
Discovery of screen splitting and tabs on your iPad lmao. This video I was a little confused admittedly. This one felt like the jumping between subjects was more jarring somehow, and I think it’d have been nice to spend more time on the books and reading component as that was the most interesting.
Always loved how you organize both physical and digital stuff, though the idea of keeping track of it that way makes my head spin lol. I could certainly do with copying the rotating check ins since I suck at keeping up with so many people at once. Subsequently, because you have so much digital organization, it’s interesting to see how many of your chores are moving stuff around and making lists on your computer. More than half the video lol.
Matthew Dicks is right. Sometimes you do projects from wherever you can. I like to keep notes on my phone for my writing projects, and sometimes I’ll even write some sentences while on the go as I think of them. Feel you on packing so much to go places. Whenever I travel I think about the extra stuff I need to pack for workout purposes. When I was younger I used to bring workout bands everywhere in case I couldn’t make it to a gym one day. Honestly watching this video you make me think I should start again.
Great to see that pre-run warm-up! Good for your muscles. And good to see you pacing yourself in the runs lol. You can totally see it in the Olympics. Feels like it looks the same every time. There are people who burst ahead at the start, and someone who paced themselves in the middle or even sometimes the back always pulls ahead at the end because they saved energy to speed up at the end. At some point to build stamina, given how things are going in the ones you’ve shown, after your triathlon you may be interested in improving your fitness through a new method of training. For instance you could run for a set time instead, say 20 minutes, and break it into high intensity intervals, say 30 seconds of sprinting followed by 30 seconds of going slow and catching your breath. And then as time continues you’d get different, harder intervals, like a 20 second sprint followed by a 10 second rest.
Wow way to steal my line with enforcing rules. Seems like you have a lot of feelings with moving in with your mom. On the one hand there’s a familiarity to it, that homecoming to a neighborhood you know so well. And yet, you’re not the same person that moved out. You’re an adult with all these experiences, and the fullness of your personhood is vexing to your parents as it is for many parents seeing their adult children. That leads to the other hand, that friction in boundaries and your interactions. That knocking is essential lol. Proud of you for sharing the name Vin with your family. Took a lot of courage.
Haha I can see the tiredness from constant editing and posting. Love the points you made about canon events. Also HOY! I’ve heard the story of your paper a number of times and ugh it infuriates me every time. It’s so weird people make it to these prestigious universities like UCSD and then do stuff like plagiarize. One thing I think may help these days lol is people can attempt (badly) to cheat with ChatGPT instead. Interesting how all these canon events are connected by the theme of insecurity.
That music is way too calm to represent the vibe of LA traffic lmao. LA traffic is like trying to focus on an academic lecture while someone next to you is blasting the Benny Hill theme at max. Also wowww UCSD! And those views. Be careful of sneks.
Nooo the salsa :( Also I feel that planning. So tough to work on so many projects at once. Have found a lot of success in scheduling when things get done, though it’s also really easy to fall behind your own deadlines. Even when you partition your work very well, there’s no perfect solution and there can be spillover from one project’s dedicated time into another’s just because you didn’t work as quickly as you wanted. Good to see how you organize, there’s a lot of wisdom in it. Video could be a bit more singular. I really enjoyed the early part with the organization. Later the video jumps around a bit and I got a little confused. Then again it’s a daily vlog so maybe that’s the point? I’ll openly admit lol other than you I only watch one other regular vlog.
Our own deadlines are to our own faults 😢😢😢 That's a fair comment! It's hard to come up with a story to flow for a vlog unless I film every single part of my day. When I do my admin or digital tasks I tend to jump around a lot, so maybe I should be streamlining more than I realize there 🤔
I loved hearing your story 🩵 It's so true that no one keeps tabs on you as much as you think they do, which goes beyond just noticing your drinking patterns. It's an important lesson in keeping yourself leveled and having personal accountability
hi Vin, I just came across your video and just wanna let you know that I love your energy, you are so brave to accept and express yourself to the world ❤wish you the best. Cheers!
Best thing about sobriety is saying goodbye to that awful craving that is an endless obsessive gnawing at your mind. I had to work to be free of it all, cigarettes, alcohol, all of it. I know others have mentioned using other substances but for me it was the same problem just transferred to a new substance. If you’ve ever been enslaved by addiction, being free from it is pure bliss.
Alcohol is a sneaky killer. I haven’t had any in 22 years. Please consider other highs or comfort that is legal in a lot of states now if you need it. Totally sober is the happiest I will say. … do enjoy the green sometimes
Thanks for sharing! I think there is a draw to alcohol that is stronger than others, especially because it is legal. Caffeine is legal too but I only have that annually bc otherwise I'm way too wired.
i am training for a half marathon and trying to write a screenplay, this is so inspiring to hear you talk about you inspo outside of work. Love love your realness
i resonate deeply! i do like the taste of certain alcohol and i see its value, i don't want to eliminate it. But at the moment my relationship needs to change. Thank you for sharing
@@TheVinDiagram 😊 It's been consistently light lately. I need to work on increasing my volume - I got a tad discouraged cycling. my race has 15 mile bike ride and 1+ hr on the bike, hurts. I was rocking it on indoor stationary bikes, but since I've been going outside, the whole bike set up has been ... my biggest challenge so far.
@@KatherineKuehn-Bao definitely take turns scaling up and down in volume so your body can recover too :) thats pretty long! if this is helpful, make sure your seat is adjusted in a way that doesnt hurt your knees/hips/ankles too. (and idk if you already have a padded seat but this helps so much lol) i never did stationary bikes but navigating and riding while trying to be comfortable is definitely difficult on the bike.
Awesome, Vin! I wanted to be like you! And I'm sure you're quite familiar with Asian culture, particularly the tradition of staying with parents even after graduation. I find it difficult to start filming. I love RU-vid so much, but I find it challenging to film myself inside our home. Our room isn't too spacious. My PC is in the living room, but there's a lot of potential noise and disruption there, like the rooster cock-a-doodling or dogs barking. I know there are advantages and disadvantages to being alone versus being with your family, but I really want to start my RU-vid Channel like how you set up yours. Maybe I could just start no matter the circumstance, and I have this feeling that my family will adjust to what I'll be doing as they are quite understanding and supportive. I already bought a softbox lighting, but the background still sucks. I'll order the backdrop, and then I'll start filming. I have yet to develop my English speaking skills, but I'm certain that it will come quite naturally as I speak more and more in front of the camera. We've spoken before, and I know you have Filipino blood, and I love your accent so much. I visit your channel from time to time. I will be here for your 100th sub, and I will be here for your 1000th sub... Just keep pushing, Vin!
Hi Nik! Thanks so much for the kind words :) I just moved back to living with my parents after living on my own / with roommates the last 13 years so it's been an adjustment for sure. Overall it has been positive. As for getting started, like you said - you'll get better and figure it out as you go (you have a lot more years on RU-vid than me!). Your English is fine! Don't stress. As long as you have a clear message, it'll come across. You don't need any fancy equipment. I use my 6-year old phone to record and a clip-on microphone. Given your environment, I would aim for shooting below your shoulder to your face (I use the cinematic future on my phone to get a blur for the background). If there's background noise just acknowledge it and even make it part of the content. I hope to see one of your videos soon - you're more ready than you realize :)
Awwh, the shout-out! You're so sweet. Yes, I love holistic health and wellness! Keep crushin' it with your videos and discipline in training for your triathlon! ☺
That is a good question! I still need to sort that out for the year. I'm thinking a senior center in my area so I can do something within my community.
One of our practice questions at Miss Chinatown USA rehearsals was “Painful truth or comforting lie?” Easier said than done, I’m sure all of us preferred the former, but are still sitting on uncomfortable conversations…
Mustard and pickles are the truth, happy to know you aren’t missing out severely!! Lol So many good nuggets in less than nine minutes - calling my body main and only home will stick with me.
Cultivating intelligent curiosity is essential for personal growth and also contributes to the development of strong bonds in both new and existing relationships. Keep up the good work, awesome message!
Thank you Richard! I jog at like 13 min/mile when doing distance -- it's slow, but you're going far Best of luck on the swimming ! I've been training for a tri too - for swimming I've been breathing every stroke (in through my mouth) and immediately start exhaling out of my nose the whole time my face is in the water .
And a plot twist - I got Richard to do this triathlon with me now hahaha!! How do you not inhale thru your mouth? I got nose clips for this but it's hard keeping it on 🥺 Best of luck on yours!!! I've moved back to Los Angelrs and now have no excuse for not going out to do the trainings 🙃
@@TheVinDiagram !That'll be great to have a buddy 100% Breathing is the only thing I am thinking about when practicing the swim. I have a hard time believing I get enough air inhaling through my mouth, but it seems to work. once my head starts to turn under the water I ASAP start blowing bubbles through my nose, so water doesn't come in. 🤷♀ Woah! Chicago to LA - hope you enjoy the sunny season ☀
@@TheVinDiagram 😅Idk about "trying" to do anything during mediation. I am signedup for the Women's YWCA Sprint Tri here in Minneapolis, MN -August 11th - so 15 weeks & 3 days
Hi! You can actually watch the full video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rZH2-zD8_UY.htmlsi=1Ql700e9v5YVcstF If you have more questions let me know!
I loved watching! My favorite part was you talking about your move to California. Have you talked about this on your podcast? Could be an idea for content
Hello! I enjoyed your video that suddenly pops up to my algorithm! So, if you want to, I'd love to help you with making Korean subtitles since I am a native Korean. My English is not perfect, but I will try my best to do the most accurate translation! If you want to, I hope you can open the public subtitle studio? that everyone can edit and add subtitles to your video. Thanks!!! :) (and of course, i am doing this for just volunteering! No worry about me asking money after doing this :) )
