What the world needs is to refocus its principal goal on sustainable-life, where Sustainable-life: is life inclusive of clean air and drinking water, shelter, food and energy production, processing and storage, security, healthcare, education, communications, transportation, privacy, and the duty free access to the marketplace of ideas and labor. Why? Because this is what it takes to create a taxpayer! A productive member of society. It is the lowest common denominator. Be it priest, president or baker, these are all things one might do with a sustainable life. Yet, absent of sustainable-life, it is survival at best, and continued systemic socioeconomic decline for our nation and peoples. How? It basically comes down to adopting a constitutional amendment, that acknowledges and affirms a citizen’s (as in a real person) fundamental right to pursue sustainable-life, and the government’s responsibility to empower it. Having strict constructionist on the Supreme Court becomes a good thing, if citizen’s sustainable-life is paramount over corporations. A good thing if tax cuts for the 1% are constitutionally required to be compared to that of the 99%. A good thing when wars to protect oil flows and corporate profits are compared against self sufficiency. I know I’m weird, and your thinking, more like batshit crazy, but white/black, straight/gay, even good/bad, are all high level endeavors, the lowest thing we’re all dependent on is sustainable-life, it’s the one thing we all share. We can always go back to hating one another, denying science, blaming it on the rich guy and crony capitalism, but over the next decade, let’s do the hard work and empower sustainable-life in America, and beyond, and save our pettiness for another day.
