I live in Indianapolis and am curious as to how you can say "no one knew who would be performing." Not true. It was huge news here and several friends were actually on stage with her. 🤔

Um she had several topless dancers on her 1993 tour The Girlie Show and she’s always loved MJ’s music, she incorporated a little bit of Billie Jean during the Like a Virgin performance on her first tour, The Virgin Tour from 1985. It made total sense for her to do those things on The Celebration tour since it was some sort of career retrospective.
Awww that’s so sweet of her to pay tribute to one of her dear and oldest friend MJ. When he was alive they were the bestest of friends they helped each other in life since the early 80s.
Awesome! A halftime show for the ages! Great entrance a la Queen Cleopatra visiting imperial Rome for the first time, before a citizenry accustomed to gladiatorial spectacles. Here, the Queen of Pop, enters a packed football stadium to entertain a testosterone-hyped, skeptical audience at halftime of a super bowl game. And from all indications, like Cleopatra, Madonna succeeded in impressing this audience.
I agree, it was out of this world. Wish I had more time to add the closing song of like a prayer with the hundreds of gospel singers that covered the entire field ❤

@@candyrichardzI vastly prefer a pleasing end product - which we got in the broadcast - over artistic "purity". Whether lip synching, Pitch Perfect, etc., or not.
