Wasn’t able to leave a comment on the video it said comments were turned off great video i to have underactive thyroid I’m surprised your not on medication for it. I have to take levothyroxine to balance it out. You look well hope you feel as well as you look :)
@@robertscott4007 Oh really? Gosh, I have to solve that. Thanks for telling me and I'm sorry. I used to take levothyroxine but then it got hyperactive and the doctor told me to stop and we've been watching the values ever since. I didn't even know you could stop taking those meds (ppl told me once you start, you don't stop). And thank you :) I am feeling alright at the moment. One day at a time you know?
I was 30 when i started noticing increased pain at the time was working 5 days a week 12 hours a day doing martial arts playing football and partying. I lost my job through my own fault and the pain increased it took a year maybe 2 before i thought this isn’t normal i need to go to the dr. Being a guy i didn’t really focus on health i was young and fit the dr said exercise blah blah blah (we’ve all heard that). Anyway cut a long story short 8 years 5 drs it took for me to be diagnosed i was told it affects your brain we can’t cure it take these leaflets get your family to read them your life will change for ever. So for the past 10 years I’ve have been researching everything i can find on our illness and I’m still nowhere near understanding why or how it happens i miss the person i used to be i used to love being up and out now I’m just happy to get out of bed every morning.
Hi Robert, I am sorry to hear that it took so long for you to get the diagnosis and that it was done in a not-so-empathetic way. To be given a pamphlet and told that you'll never cure it must have been a shock. That "happy to get out of bed " feeling is something that is very familiar to me as well. It's hard for anyone else to understand. I have heard of some treatments that have helped people not need medication and be pain-free, but I still need to do more research before I can share it here. Thank you so much for sharing your story and please, feel free to reach out whenever you need to.
I was relieved when after being seen by a few doctors, I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Knowing really helped me get a lot better. It will take several months of experimenting, but you should be able to greatly improve your pain levels by taking the right medications and understanding more about the illness. Buy the book The Fibro Manual by Ginevra Liptan M.D.. She is a doctor who has fibromyalgia. She gets it and has great treatment advice. You can see her videos on RU-vid. If you can get pain medication and sleep medication to help you sleep, your symptoms will lessen. The pain keeps you from getting slow wave sleep and lack of slow wave sleep will make you sicker, it is a vicious cycle. A science backed medication called Low Dose Naltrexone helps a lot of people lessen their fibro pain in the U.S... It takes several weeks to work. I'm not sure that your doctor in Portugal can or would prescribe it but you may want to research it online. Beware of products online that claim to cure fibromyalgia and be wary of everything anybody tells you will fix it including diets, exercise and vitamins. People won't understand your illness and will want to give you advise. Work with your doctor and research on your own to find treatments and medications that will help you, just make sure that they have some valid science behind them, or you will waste a lot of money. Join some fibro support groups on Facebook. You can get a lot better with the right treatment but expect a lot of experimentations and some failures. You are in pain but have a smile on your face. Keep up the hope, you will be able to feel better.
It's incredible how doctors misdiagnose women so much. I had several doctors saying I just needed to exercise more.... I run half marathons, I was a fitness instructor and I was a gymnast with a lot of medals.... Exercise isn't the problem, the problem is that women complaints keep getting ignored. I was diagnosed with ADHD only at 40 years old, and I'm still fighting with doctors because they keep denying the ADHD usual meds saying I'm too old and I'm not struggling at school or work. Apparently having trouble sleeping and having accidents that can kill you is not reason enough 😓 Stay strong, it's another obstacle but you can do it.
You always were an amazing girl. This step now is a giant display of sensibility and honesty that should be highly applauded 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I know you can do this. You’re already doing it. And above all, please know that you’re most certainly not alone. You can always count on me and on my prayers. And btw your grandma (and your grandpa) are surely very proud of you, as your mom is and I am too. Huge hugs from 2000 km away, but still warm and sweet. ❤❤❤❤
