your videos are so helpful as someone new to spriting, i have learned so much from you and am having a blast making characters. thank you for posting and keep up the art
character design isn't all just vibes and ideas! the "there's no such thing as a wrong decision" mentality can only take you so far - especially when applied to the realm of style mimicry, which this video is explicitly aimed at. as far as making comic-accurate trolls goes, there are established rules and aesthetic choices.
Do u have any specific brushes you use or custom settings or even brushes we could download or advice on scaling photo size accordingly so we can get the closest thing to the style
@@meatmanuel okay any suggestions on how big I should make the portraits. I know it’s very subjective on the page but I’m looking into fan wikis on creating AUS etc art assets we can take and flip to our own likings and they do have certain dynamics they say each page should be so I’m just curious because yah sometimes u crack into it but u have a wrong canvas size n it can make the brush look really swhank
@@twotamatos it's completely subjective depending on what you're trying to do. for just drawing, i'd stick to whatever size you're most comfortable with. if you plan to make sprites (i have a video on this in the works), i'd make a 650x450 canvas. that's the normal panel size on mspa.
I know this video is focused on the art, but hats off for “billionaire slayboy, famous villantropist” that’s fcking hilarious and has endeared me to this character immensely despite his smarmy looks. Would definitely watch if you did more videos about your characters 💛
i used firealpaca for a long time and it served me well enough. be warned though, photoshop has a lot of quirks in the brush rendering and other mechanics that can't be replicated so easily or at all in other programmes.
