Beautiful work. I'm creating a small machine shop to do stuff like this. Dave is a huge inspiration. I'm a Boomer. In 1970, my best friend's first car was a 850 Spider. It wasn't fast, but it handled well, looked sharp, chicks dug it. I cannot imagine one with 400hp... Subscribing.

I have been to REV's a couple of times (and LOVE it) and taken the tours along with the "workshop" section. Are there any plans to show this project during the tours???

I have driven FIAT 850s for almost 50 years. I have both 1967 Spider and 1967 Coupe. A well driven 850 can be quick and embarass other sports cars on twisty roads. A four hundred horse power 850 is going to be scary fast on the street. One of the beauties of the 850 is its light weight. What is the projected weight of the final car?
@TheRevsInstitute
@TheRevsInstitute 18 дней назад
Around 2200 lbs, when all is said and done. Thanks for your question!

Fiats are way underrated. They were cosidered " throw away " and suffered for maintenance.

Kudos on a great video! It is always a joy to see more content that tells the story of Briggs and his cars. For anyone interested, here is another video about Briggs and the predecessor to the C5...the C-4R. These are a few stories as told by the former owner of the C-4R that currently resides in the Simeone Museum. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cBTI_r28HRs.html

It should be noted the 64 Sebring win was a class win, under 3.0l. The homologation as a 2 liter GT hadn't been completed.

Although I am not from that era, being much younger. I feel that modern racing, although equally challenging with its high grip high downforce technology has lost the excitement that was had. An era were two sides of the spectrum could competitively race for a win and were a driver could make a difference! Loved every second of this. Thank you for sharing 🙏
