be honest, you just got tired of producing actually good and informational content, and the informational stuff wasn't "getting enough views" so now the new videos are all challenges for plants... PLANTS, need i remind the human race that plants cannot think and do not remember, and absolutely cannot learn, of course they adapt and evolve, but they don't have brains and do not function the same as animals, you're treating these plants like a sideshow at a carnival, the traps close based off a chemical reaction when a hair in the trap is triggered, sending a spike of calcium through the leaf, the time between hairs triggering the trap is determined by this calcium spike, so if a second hair is triggered when the calcium spike has dissipated from the first hair trigger, it spikes again but only as strong as the first, and if a second hair is triggered before the calcium has dissipated from the leaf, the calcium spike is much bigger and causes the trap to close, spoilers, but each plant has a weaker or stronger calcium spike, determined by genetics, so some have a longer time between hair triggers than others, and some have a shorter time, therefore this would only be fair had he used all VFTs from the same cultivar, either way, this channel should've stayed educational, it looks like it's more about entertainment than actually educating about these wonderful plants, and it would be recommended that you upload at least a few educational vids on here once in a while, some people watching this will think this is how they are supposed to be fed, and take some of what you're saying like how they "learn" seriously, when they cannot learn and cannot think, you're spreading more false information than truth now and it's absolutely disappointing.
@@kyoon-chan2512 was honestly waiting for a response like this😂 to make a long story short it’s a plant and not a circus animal 🪴🤪 I like the cat pfp btw
some traps just get old and die, the black spots are just because the leaf has lived its life, new leaves will come up and replace the new ones constantly, i would go to a different channel if you want actual information on these plants, this channel is just a sideshow, nothing else.
@@oneeyedjack8806 i do my best, i just got back into these plants recently and want to start my own VFT channel at some point, hopefully more informative than this channel lol, but in the meantime i'm just gonna help random people in the comments and on reddit as much i can, i just don't like misinformation being spread and especially when people try and make these plants out to be some kind of pet, when it's a plant and should be treated as such, i'm glad i could help and you can reply to this with any other questions if you'd like, and i'll respond asap :)
Something has had me puzzled throughout the entire competition. How did you attract so many flies to the traps. Mine occasionally will catch a house fly but mostly they are capturing spiders, craneflies, daddy longlegs, earwigs and the once in a great while wasp.
