Oh for sure. Unlimted speeds in the areas that are allowed is great. Just tryna help spread the word and correct Hollywood and the media. Hope you enjoy the content :D
I understand the regligious reason behind it aka Sunday is the day of rest, but this isn't overly a thing here in the UK. At least in the big cities like Edinburgh
@@DocyinDeutschland true Story, this is about the last pieces of the Reich constitution that is still in force, sundays are protected as days "for the upllifting of the soul"
You're from Scotland and are surprised at *our* castles?? Huhhh??? I basically live in German castle-central and yet when I was in Scotland, I gawked my eyes out! It's way more impressive over there! Breakfast being the first thing on your list is so funny to me, because my grandma hosted a British couple in the 80s, and they complained about the boring breakfast. It escalated so far that it's a story still told in our family; apparently my grandmother refused to serve them anything after that. You can say our breakfast is dull; you'd be correct. 😂 Thank you for the entertaining video and thanks for being critical of things and saying what you think instead of just praising everything to high heavens, just to be unconfrontational.
Thank you so much for this lovely comment :D I will admit Scotland has many beautiful castles but the sheer voume of castles Germany has is super impressive. Can't wait to delve into that video 😂 Yeah breakfasts seem to be a lot less exciting in Germany. Nothing wrong with that but yeah, definitely prefer the Scottish breakfasts. I love that story 😂 Totally understandable especially if they were being rude. Hopefully not. Thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed. I'll always do my best to be honest and not praise just for the sake of praising. If theres something I am not too keen on I will say :D Hope to see you around in the comments again. Cheers, Liam
I think drinking them warm / room temperature is a big disservice to pretty much any of those... And hearing off-brand in regard to Apfelschorle feels weird, most people don't even buy it, but get Apfelsaft and Sprudel...
18:36 - In Deutschland soll es 5.000 - 6.000 Biersorten geben (niemand weiß es so genau), das wäre auch ein gutes Testfeld. Das würde auch viel mehr Spaß machen als Zuckerwasser. 😄😏
Not sure why RU-vid didnt let me post my response (it might have?) But it was something along the lines of I wont be drinking it again but if I ever come someone else drinking it I will try and get a video of what it looks like on the inside :D
Sparkly water? Well, first, it's not flat. Plain, flat water is horrible. And the carbon dioxide actually makes it slightly sour, so it has at least a minimal taste. That's why I like it ... well, when the alternative is flat water. Otherwise, I prefer adding "real" taste to the water. Tea _is_ an acceptable alternative. Oh, and as for weird combinations ... I'm currently trying a ginger/turmeric tea. It's ... well, weird. As for the variety ... too much cola. I don't like cola.
Thank you very much for the comment. I feel if I keep drinking it I will get used to it just didn't ever see the appeal. But I can see the reasoning behind it from your comment. Also yes... far too much cola in this testing... Not sure if we'll do a part 2 haha
That's not a typical German breakfast!!! German breakfast consists of Brötchen and bread , cheese, cold cuts, marmalade and a boiled egg. Plus coffee and a glass of orange juice or vitamin juice. That's German and not that Americanized crap from McDoof! Wo ist das Zwiebelmettbrötchen ???? PS: This is a Hamburg Franzbrötchen and not a croissant!!!Poffertjes are Dutch, not German, and are only eaten after lunch because they are so sweet and fatty.
I 100% agree this isn't a typical German breakfast. Trust me I've had more than enough traditional German breakfasts to know that. This was simply me trying the new German McDonalds breakfast. Yes it could do with being more German but it is still an improvement on their previous selections. Thank you for your comment and information 🥰
That is also an option and whilst I agree everyone should learn basics before travlling to a country, would you really want to limit the potential tourist revenue at the cost of them needing to learn the language? I've been learning German myself for 18 months now and whilst I can have a basic conversation it is a huge undertaking asking someone to learn an entire language just to travel.
@@DocyinDeutschland You will be "abgezogen." This means you lose your phone and the basic structure of your nasal septum if you have less than €10 with you. You are called an "$cheiß alman" if you don't look like a southerner. But admittedly, this is more likely to happen in the "NRW" region, where the number of crimes from certain countries are overrepresented. If you don't believe me, look at the police crime statistics, in German "Pks"
Meanwhile here in Florida we have virtually no public transportation between major cities. I live in the Tampa Bay area and there is no train or bus line that I could take to the capitol city. A friend of mine received a summons from the state legislature to appear and testify at an investigation. He doesn't drive and had no way to get there. He politely declined for the above reasons. They swore out a warrant for his arrest for refusing to show up at the state capitol and he did 30 days in jail. They said it was his responsibility to find transportation. He lost his job then his apartment. That was 11 years ago and he is still homeless as a result. HIs crime? being poor. Here in Florida it's like living in a third world country. 40 years ago we had train service and could travel from any major city to any other major city but not today.
I'm so sorry to hear that your friend went through all of that. That is far from the way to handle things. If they really wanted them to attend they should have arranged something. Your friend contacted them saying they couldn't due to the stated reasons. The fact they were able to send people out to arrest him surely shows they're fine to go to peoples houses. Collecting your friend from their house would have been cheaper than the 30 days they got in jail. So they can't use money as an excuse. This angers me the fact that in this day and age stuff like this still happens. I am so sorry :(
@@DocyinDeutschland It was amazing! Took a lot of pictures and I went there actually two separate days: one in the morning and the next in the evening. I was staying at a hostel in Köln
@bmw123ck I'm glad you had such a great experience :D Did you explore much more of the city? And if not would you visit again? I have just released a video about 5 things to do whilst there if you wanted to explore more things to do the next time you are in the area :D Feel free to check it out. Also Köln is such a beautiful city. I'm thankfully only a couple hours away so been a few times. Can't wait to make a video on this city aswell :D
There are steps or elevator's to take you to the platform, from there you can make your way onto the Schwebebahn :D Just make sure to have bought your ticket first
I was not expecting the gravity switch comment 🤣 In fairness though having a gravity switch would be useful if anyone managed to fall out like tuffi the elephant did 👀 Would you ride the Schwebebahn?
From all the bakeries I have tried I can strongly agree. There are so many good options to choose from. I'm a sucker for a sweet treat and German bakeries have so much good choice
I disagree with the last. It is the second most common first or mother tongue language in Europe. Although it has decreased in number as a second language over the years.
Rauchbier and Weißwurst Breakfast: Certain culinary specialties such as Rauchbier (smoked beer) and the traditional Bavarian Weißwurst breakfast (with white sausage, pretzels and sweet mustard) are firmly anchored in German culture.

The whole "cash is king" thing really changed with the pandemic. Today you can pay your 60ct Pretzel with a credit or debit card. But there are still shops and restaurants that only accept cash. But you will get far with your cards.
This is thankfully becoming true. Card is becoming more and more accepted as the days go on. I've found the further east you go however the more you tend to need cash. Not sure if this is just a coincidence on where I've been.
There are taxi services that you can call however at least in the areas I've been there is a 9 euro minimum spend. This does included the first 3km of travel though. This is designed to try and prevent those getting taxis short potentially unnecessary distances.
@@astroyashsenpai3785 I'm guessing you're worried about the "Salute", honestly as long as you signal the taxi down by maybe waving or holding your hand out to the side you won't offend anyone. There is a huge difference between signalling down a taxi and doing the "Salute". Try not to worry too much about it. If you feel you want to play it safe could just call a taxi or if avaliable in the area book an uber. Overall you will be fine.
@@DocyinDeutschland okay I kinda wanted to always ask this to a German citizen but what are the thoughts regarding Hitler? Like do you guys not talk about it or is he spoken of regularly to teach others the history?
Personally I am not German, however my fiance says that it is taught in school but daily life it tends not to be spoken about. A bit like other topics in life, they don't need brought up every day. It is sadly a part of the world's history but does not need to be discussed every day.
Indeed. You often get a voucher back in places such as malls that you can redeem at the stores in said mall. So in a sense the toilet is free (or cheaper)
@@dasbeta Train stations, airports, shopping centres, parks and city centres tend to be the pay to pee places. You are correct with some of the autobahn stops being free to pee and also being disgusting. Come across a few of them myself.
Honestly I don't hate it. In places like NYC you can't use bathrooms unpess.your a customer, and everything is expensive. 50 cents to wee ain't too bad
@@patricksimnor6589 The way I see it is that if people pay, not only does it help pay for staff to keep the place clean but it also stops a lot of unnecessary usage/mis-use of the toilets
I wasn't 100% sure on this one so played it safe with a number I could verify of 300. I will do more research and see if I can find a source for the 3000
@@justalangusta260 Since my connection is the TV cable that millions of households have been equipped with for decades, it's just a question of signing a contract with Vodafone and, of course, the price. Deutsche Telekom provides 1 Gbit/s via old telephone connections as well. Most Germans won't opt for 1 Gbit/s because it's overkill for streaming music or even movies or surfing the internet. It is really is an outdated cliché that mobile and fixed Internet in Germany is slow and sparse. LTE coverage is 96.99% and 5G 84.89%. And Billions are currently being invested in fiber optic internet.
There is no "longest German word", because the way German works, you can always add another compound (hence Rhabarberbarbarabarbarbarbartbarbierbierbarbärbel...).
