@@EH-rf9ot thank you for your comment. We don't fast for 40 days we just fast on the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur. That's a 25 hours fast on the 10th day of the Jewish month-Tishrei.
do you have to say the entire Birkat Hamazone if lets say you just had a cookie? What if you're at work and you want to take a short break and have a snack. Do you have to wash hands (Yadoyim) say the blessing over the cookie (Al Hamicha) eat it and say the sustenance and the nourishments once finished? Please help me, I'm trying to get into the chabad way of life like you are. Is there an appropriate time to do that? Shouldn't that be more at home after or before work, make your meal, say the blessings over the meal starting with bread (Mem) and work your way leftwards to Shehakol (Shin). Once you're done, say the blessings of thanks to G-d over the types of food you ate starting again from Mem to Shin. (Ayin) Veggies don't have a blessing after eating it and so does Shehakol. If they have a blessing to thank the L-rd for after eating, what is it?

Please say it in English. I was Catholic, then Christian. But now i believe that the churches have spinned many lies. Many times i break out in praises and thanksgiving whist in the bathroom but every time i was worried incase i was being disrespectful. My praises weren't intentional, they just came out of my mouth.

On this subject, I heartily recommend atrack I discovered by accident (it appeared in my 'recommended' feed) by a British band called UNIT. The track is A Tribute To The Israeli Defence Force and it is excellent - tuneful and forceful without being bombastic combined with a lovely lyric. I know next to nothing about the group but on investigation I see they've recorded a whole batch of Jewish related tracks such as Pesach, Yom Kippur, Bar Mitzvah, Israel Is Real, The 613 Mitzvot and probably others I don’t know about yet. Some of them feature Rabbi Moshe Bryski which is definitely a recommendation in itself.

This could have been better if you put the corresponding text for people who are serious about Orthodox conversion or didn't go to Hebrew school as a child. My Mom worked at a Jewish Pre K or Kindergarten, but I never went to one. Tragic. I've been learning Hebrew and have been really moving at a slow pace, but I can read it, but I'm still struggling a bit with the nikkud. I became observant in January/February of 2023. I've seen the Art scroll transliterated weekday Siddur and I was really surprised how awful it was. I was not expecting that from Artscroll e.g. The Shema is improper in there and I was able to tell this when I first learned the Aleph Bet.

Question - you light the Shabbat candles 20 minutes before Shabbat starts. Do you at that point also say the blessings, or do you light the candles and then wait for Shabbat to start to say the blessings?
Toda Raba! I searched far and wide for the best video to learn the Shema and you are the best! Oct. 7th, 2023 was a spiritual wake up call for me, after which I decided to convert. It is a real joy learning the Holy language that HaShem Himself spoke. 5 years on and I still find this posting to sing along Ashrei with your daughter from time to time. Her purity and joy in singing it has always inspired me.
