Honestly that's probably what I would have done just slide the bed back far enough to get to the tank I find it easier. Just put something at the end to hold the bed keeping it from sliding more.
I really like how it looks so that makes it worth it for me. I don't really know the power gain difference from other CAIs so I can't base if it's worth it on that.
oh ok i was just wondering because i'm looking for another cai i didn't end up liking the JLT so i may try this K&N one as well thank you@@elizperformance
I used that same fitting off Amazon and the same odaker clamps and gates sub hose. Few days later, lost all pressure at fuel rail. Hose popped off the Y. Noticed the Y that LFP and others sell, is a much tighter spread. Please keep us updated!
If the truck is stock, stay with Motorcraft. Mine is not stock and making 12 psi boost and I'm running NGK BR7s and haven't had any issues it actually runs smoother then when I had the NGK TR6. But I would suggest you consult your tuner for plug choice.
I recommend tuning it for max performance gains and to avoid the check engine light but I've heard of people not tuning them and living with the check engine light on. I'd say do some more research and talk to a tuner.
Thanks bro and it's hard to find quality from what I've heard. My dad has 30 plus years experience so he works on my stuff and he does side work at times but he is not cheap lol. We have been thinking about opening a shop in the future but not sure yet.
What type of prep did you do to the grill before you painted it? I have to replace mines and I’m not sure if the plastic crome can be scuffed and painted or if it needs to come off some how
I don't know about chrome but I used 600 grit sand paper on mine and then a scotch brite to make the surface smoother. I also fixed two cracks on it. I would say if the chrome isn't peeling then scuff it up and paint it on a small area that's hidden in case it doesn't work. If it does then do the whole thing.
I run them between .036 to .038 but I'm at 12psi and it feels great. You could try asking your tuner first if your truck is tuned. If you can't get a hold of your tuner you could start with the above gap. If you are running more boost you might have to close the gap.
@@elizperformance what gap do recommend for just a kn intake and everything alse stock, am seen a lot mix number online and you seem very knowledgeable
I would stick to the stock plugs for sure. Once you boost up then your tuner should advise you of what plug to use. Thanks! I try to learn as much as I can of every vehicle I own.
It is safe as long as you let the motor cool off if you have been driving it. You can always cover the alternator and air filter if you want to be extra careful. Also if you have a compressor or a leaf blower just blow all the water off once you're done cleaning it if you don't want to wait for the water to evaporate.
I believe this one has the 8 thread. The owner had the engine replaced at a dealer several years after he bought it new. If you run it hard with 4 thread heads you'll risk blowing them out.
If it's a good deal on the truck I would go for it. Of course if you can get an 03 to 04 it'll be better. Although I've read that plugs that are torqued down properly on 4 thread heads won't have an issue but I can't confirm. Also if you're planning on building the engine you can always buy a set of 8 thread heads and install them or go aftermarket.
