This series kinda illuminates why GoT is better than HoTD (and I do love that series, too). There were many actors on GoT whose characters were very fleshed out and you cared about them-- even peripheral characters like Maester Luewin. The lesser characters on HoTD have not mattered to me, even a few of the HoTD mains are just not as developed as they were on GoT.
These were made by hbo. They were part of a dvd collection I think. All of the narrators are the GOT actors. This one in particular is Jorah’s actor narrating in the beginning
Funny how everyone has a clear bias towards their house or philosophy in their retelling of history but Euron is just like “yeah, my ancestor was a fukin idiot, lol.”
Samwell narrated the Maesters of Old town and the muppet writers made him make the cardinal mistake of calling a GrandMaester an Archmaester in the final episode.🤦
I'm confused they ran through the whole history in 30 minutes and now they're starting back at 8 on the conqueror like in the middle of the history at 34 minutes so confusing
I love how Harry Lloyd puts on the full snotty voice when doing his bits. He's a very good actor generally, but a particularly gifted voice actor. Given that he didn't even last out the first season, some might wonder why he was doing spots on the History and Lore over half a decade later. Not me. His parts are always particularly amusing. And he seems fully amused. He's always completely snide and condescending about virtually everyone, including all Targaryens. I like to play a game. I listen out for all the parts he narrates. Then I wait to see if there is ANYONE who his voice indicates actual approval of. It gets more and more amusing as it goes on.
Watching these amazingly atmospheric vignettes, makes me so sad at how the Song of Ice and Fire ended - it could have been a true classic of both screen and literature. And it all ended on such a soar note, with the books almost certainly to remain forever unfinished: and as a result of running out of cannon-material: the TV series concluding in such a hurried, messy and unsatisfying way.
I don't think Emilia wanted to do her job in s8. She called her mom asking if she could ever hate Daenerys, that's how much she loved her character. Overall she did great but i would personally love to delete S8 from my memory it's so bad
