This really makes a lot of sense. And is a great test to see which grip force works! I cant wait to try this on the range. I think this is very valuable. And echos some comment's from some high level shooters. Or at least the ones I listen too. It's about "repeatable" recoil positions. Not forcing the gun to stay still. But yours is the first exolanation of how to do that AND how to test it. Excellent.

Great explanation…thanks. My thought until recently was that I had to do everything I could, strength wise, to negate muzzle flip, so of course I’ve been squeezing super hard, support hand high up and even my index finger around the front of the trigger guard, pulling back. Very exhausting. Your video as well as Ben Steoger’s has made me realize the muzzle flip will happen , you just need that gun to get back to the spot. 👍🏻

ALWAYS CARRY A SPARE MAG! Anyone who thinks their carry pistol won't ever malfunction is sadly over optimistic. Also, there's videos out there of guys taking 11-16 rounds and still operational enough to keep engaging. A spare mag on my weak side hip has never been a burden to me. In fact, it makes me feel balanced due to having my weapon on the strong side hip for some reason. 🤨

Excellent video and tutorial... I am boldly gonna use this video to educate my newbies, as I ran out of energy to repeat...LOL... I apply the same principle, just a tad higher with my 'drumstick' on the frame, often resulting in pushing up the slide catch, or holding it down and not allowed a slide lock on empty mag, which sucks during matches... so I am constantly evolving and my grip has changed a lot over the years, but def leans closest to this video... keep ip the good work, I will subscribe and support...

I realized a long time ago that you don't have to have a reason to own a particular gun other than it's neat and you want it. By all means, have your EDC and train with it, become proficient with it and all that, but you don't have to justify owning a revolver, or any other gun. At least I don't. Survival wisdom: Two is one, one is none. Magazines fail. Type 3 malfunction more likely caused by mag than broken extractor, so best to replace mag with new. They say statistically civilian reloads rarely occur. The same can be said about needing a gun for self defense. How many days have you carried a gun and not needed it, versus how many days you've actually had to use it, and yet you carry anyway. Same with a spare mag. We fantasize about senerios and feel comfortable in our solutions, including equipment, to deal with them, but for every senerio we imagine, there are hundreds we haven't that are also real threats. Being paranoid isn't helpful, but being prepaired is.

@citizen_defense
@citizen_defense Месяц назад
@@That1Bountyhunter-ec2ig The reason for this method of re holstering is specific to appendix carry. When you can’t the hips forward it orients the muzzle away from the body to reduce any chances of being injured if someone was to have an ND while reholstering. People shoot themselves all the time when reholstering. So yes it is necessary for students to learn this.

This was at a uspsa match. As for training and drills, the key is to make the most out of the ammo you have. My training sessions probably consist of 100-150 rounds. Buying ammo in bulk is the most affordable way. I buy ammo in 500 round cans at $120 with shipping. In between range training I dry fire.

Slapping the trigger refers to fully pressing through the trigger rapidly. Not taking up the slack to the wall then breaking the shot, commonly referred to as prep and press. I hope that makes sense.

For concealed carry personally I don't. It adds bulk and snag on a gun I am trying to hide on my body. I am for keeping my concealed guns lean and mean to hide and use quickly. It just needs to get the job done and nothing more. For just open carry it would not matter to me but I use a stand alone light if necessary. The military does not practice light and noise discipline for nothing. If it can be seen or heard on the battlefield then it can be killed. When a light turns on it gives away the location and everybody knows where the light is. Same for noise. I only turn a light on if necessary to identify a target and then quick on and off and immediately change locations. Its better not to turn a light on at all.
@citizen_defense
@citizen_defense 7 месяцев назад
That’s a great point, and I used to keep my carry set up the same way. But I would say that light discipline doesn’t always apply to the civilian context. Most people are going to be using a light to gather data on someone approaching that may seem to have nefarious intent. While a light can be a target, it can also blind and act as camouflage to prevent that nefarious individual from seeing you telegraph your movements. This is all in terms of a handheld light. I’m not military so my employment methods are all based in civilian life. 🤙🏻

Also own 2 of the kore tactical models for off duty carry. I use a tip keeper to keep the tip down. The biggest benefit with my kore ratchet belt is that its super quick and easy to adjust right to my exact size after lunch but to adjust my blue alpha I have to tear open the velcro.
