😊😊 those chainsaws do turn good RPM 2 make really HP they have 2 pull air either in port work or a over size carb air flow and compression 😊😊 I think 🤔 😊 a alot closer 2/ 14,OOO RPM 😊😊 OMG 9 8 2O24
@@chrischiampo7647 I’m thinking about calling it Mr T. Figure out a way to give it a bunch of bling and such. Dye it black with some gold wrap or something. Maybe paint it up like the A-team van.
Smitty i was bored and had a nos homelite 150 cylinder i ported the transfers as far as it could go and deleted a ring on new lrb piston and now i can dog it in a log and rip it, couldnt even put log near dogs b4!!!
Looking good. The learning is half of the fun of this stuff. Been porting 50-60 cc saws for a while now. Just happens that most of the victims, I mean saws, that I have are in this range. On the lookout for a lathe and some other odds and ends to slowly push the builds but baby steps right now. Been fun watching the journey and even more fun starting my own!
That’s a good way to explain it. Square ground feels like the saw just does all the work. Btw have you seen the squarejig ? Someone from the forums made it(he has a website) and it fits into an Oregon regular grinder and you can dress a wheel to grind square. Doesn’t look like you need it but it’s cool that he came up with a way to bench grind square with a bit less of an investment than a silvey
If you want a fast chain the simington or silver grinder is the way to go imho. 1 man in 10000 is going to be able to hand file sqr/sqr better than a grinder and that’s only years of practice.
@@Smittyschainsaws yah I’m just a small fish in a big pond - guys like Bronco Billy Ray get all the goodies : saws (I think he got every 5 series Husqvarna makes for free) , bar oil , axes 🪓, the whole nine yards. He put in his time tho …
Since you're racing saws square is totally worth the effort as the difference between wining and losing is less than half a second per cut. For us firewood hacks the quick and easy to do round ground is best as it never stays sharp for long cutting dirty wood. I dressed a wheel on my grinder to grind hexa style cutters, I think it stays sharp even longer than regular round ground chain but it isnt any faster.
What kind of grinder did you dress to be able to grind hex? Also do you find it cuts smoother than your round? Personally I think my square cuts smoother and that’s a factor in making the effort to learn and grind square. Or at least that’s what I tell myself 😂
@@paperclips43663 A round grinder like an oregon 410 or 520 or a knock off, I have the cheap vevor one. You dress the round wheel until it's squared off like a cutting wheel, then put a 15-20 degree slant on the side of it. Richard flag has a how to vid of it. About the only difference from round is the more durable corner. This is quick and easy just like round ground once you dress the wheel. It's not a race chain it's just a tweaked round grind.
@@nseric1233 oh ok I see. Yeah I haven’t had a hex chain yet. Thanks for clarifying. Btw have you heard of squarejig? A guy made a jig to go with the 410 Oregon grinder and you dress the wheel a certain way and it grinds square. What you were saying kind of reminded me of it with the certain way to dress the wheel. I’ll check out Richard’s videos thou to learn more. Thanks again.
Great work buddy!!! The square definitely looked a lot more smooth and manageable in the cut. Im still very very new to the square game so C83 with .025" to .030" raker depth is faster in my case, but im practicing hard everyday to get my square better. 👍🏻
Klotz nitro additive is a total waste of time. The only thing it adds is heat. The only way it makes even the smallest of gains on a dyno is at 20+ percent. For the price of it and the fact that you’re already on meth, just use nitromethane.
Also it’s good to see that type of vice will work to square sharpen. All My vices jaws are too big I’ll look to buy one like that. Square ground is pretty awesome I must say. None of even my best teeth look as good as your worst I’m sure but it still cuts smoother than any round ground i have.
I enjoyed the longer video run!!! 👍🏻 that chain looks stellar Smitty. I'm looking forward to seeing the X-CUT VS Square File, I have my bet made, now to see if I'm right. But personally, ONLY Personally, the C-83 out the box is faster. BUT.... I'm beting your square can beat it!!!
