I have this fantasy - I'm up on stage ready to announce the greatest film of all time thinking it's Stanley Kubrick's 2001 Space Odyssey and I blurt out Rocky Horror Picture Show! (It's in my top ten)!
June 2024 and I just had to play this song again a few time. P.S just remembering a local DJ always turning it up to full volume on "let them gossip all they want, she loved us and she raised us". Which was probable very personal for him...
I was born the same year that Telstar was launched. I have been lucky enough to see and benefit from the advances in communications technology since then.
I was 13 in 1968. I would have sworn O. C. Smith was a one hit wonder with "Little Green Apples", then I was reading his Wikipedia article and lo and behold they mentioned this song. "Oh of course!" -- I'd forgotten all about it. Great 60s soul.
I am 75 years old and this song still sends shivers down me ! What a mother these poor 14 children had !!!the only other singer who would have been able to make this song talk would have been Elvis .OC Smith had a smooth golden voice!
Voyager1 being 47:years old and reconnected to ground control brought me here. Memories of listening to it on vinyl played through a wood cased record player at my grandparents house brought a tear to my eye. ❤
I love this theme. I saw this movie at the cinema with my dad, uncle and cousin. I loved it. Brilliant movie, Stanley Baker and a very young Michael Caine were both brilliant in it. I was only about 14 at the time and I didn't think I would like it as I thought it was more for men's tastes with it being a war film but as I said before I ended up loving it. I have watched it many times since on tv and I have it on DVD. I love history maybe that's why I loved it and I learned a lot from it.
This great singer is from my hometown and was always a fantastic singer. Did all sorts of community charity events for local communities. Still one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

Vietnam Veterans it is Memorial day 2024. Welcome home brothers. I was ignorant on the feeling of your war. August 2021 I felt just exactly how it was. So many friends and brothers dead. You ask for what.
