Maybe just crop the white test knit sweater above the (hardly noticeable) coffee spot. You could also add a picot edging to the hem to match the planned change to the sleeves.
Happy new year, Kerry! I really loved seeing your vlog. Your family is so beautiful. Im beyond happy to see how sweet your life is. And girl, you can knit! I'm crazy impressed! But you have always been amazingly talented so I'm not surprised 😉 Also congrats on the 1,000+ subscribers. - Alyssa ❤
Thanks, Alyssa! I'm surprised and happy you found me on here :) Thank you for the Christmas card! I couldn't get my act together to send any out this year. :/ Ah well. Hope you have a Happy New Year and that your house renovations go well! ❤
Haha your mom told my mom about your channel while I was down. It's amazing! And I would not worry about cards, you are busy. And let's be honest, I do the bare minimum on my cards. I don't even write on them 😅 Thank you, the renovations are going great and I love my new home! God is so good!
You are so adorable and I'm so glad I found you. I'm only half way through but I love your podcasting style, how you don't try to pad out the words and of course the excellent choices for the year. I'm off to continue watching but was so struck by how considered and thoughtful you are to the viewer that I just had to write to tell you. Lu in Australia x (and I should be knitting but I make little bear collections in clay and the January one is looming fast so I'll make bears while you chat. :-) )
Thank you! I really appreciate it. ❤️ I plan on making another video like this in first few months of 2024 :) With so many patterns to get through I tried hard not to spend too much time on them, haha. Good luck with your next collection!
Congratulations for reaching a milestone! I love the vest you are wearing. It is very unusual. The winter is not intense here. In fact it is quite warm some days. I am enjoying knitting cardigans and vests for my sister and mother in law. Just finished the Melody sweater for my mother. The wool you have got milled is so beautiful. Best wishes for your new endeavour.
Thank you! I'm looking forward to making a cardigan for myself soon. We'll see when it happens, lol. I suggest you check out my latest video (vlogmas) where I announce the giveaway winner 😊
Yay for audio books - and yay for our libraries that let us check them out for free! Like you, I devour them. Glad to see you back. Your Utah yarn is gorgeous.
Oh, how exciting is it? 1k subs is a lot, being from BRazil with zero people around me who knits, I know the excitment lolol. I am looking forward xmas season because it's also the season I can knit for my 5 kids with no stress, and give them the next year sweaters they will need. I love seeing them wear them, and feel like a proud momma, lolol. Does it make sense? Love from Brazil, sweetie
Oh, that totally makes sense! After a few years my whole family has hand knit hats and it makes me feel so good when we're all wearing and enjoying them 😊 Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
The natural yarns are gorgeous. I’d like to do the same up here in northern Canada. Flocks and mills though are few and far between. Maybe I’ll deep dive into it in 2024. 🎉
Thank you! It was really fun to look into. It just took some time, but that's okay. There's a mill in Montana I'm curious to try out as well. Maybe another year 😊
Oh how exciting to have your own local yarn, Congratulations 🎉 they are gorgeous! I love the two colours you choose to over dye with too ❤ When you asked for a Drops Mohair Silk suggestion, mauve came to mind right away. Might also look good with your dyed skein, not that it needs anything, it’s so pretty on its own! I am really looking forward to Christmas so I can give my loved ones the knitted items I have made for them 😊 it’s so hard to not give them to them right now lol Have a great day.
This episode of yours from 4 months ago popped up in my feed just yesterday, and I am so intrigued 😊 So many patterns off the beaten track, and very interesting patterns, too. I watch a lot of knitting podcasts, and yours is a beautiful find for me. Thank you very much for taking the effort. I am binging the rest of your episodes already ❤️
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. 🥰 It was really fun looking for great, lesser known patterns and I would like to make more like this. I've been taking a break from youtube (just cuz life got busy), but I plan to be back soon! ❤️
Starting this sweater tonight, your's made me buy the pattern! Question..how do you 'knit' down a collar? I've only sewed down, or worked with a provisional cast on knitted with live sts. I'd love a tutorial site if you have one.
Hi! That's exciting - I hope you're enjoying the sweater! :) So sorry for the late reply. I haven't been on youtube as much lately. Here's a video showing how to knit down and bind off a collar at the same time (I just did this on a project today actually): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-95OpuhjyPm4.html. For the Snowy Forest, since the collar is done before the rest of the sweater, I would just follow the way she picks up the cast on stitch, knits it together with the live stitch, and skip the bind off part. :) Hope that helps!
Thank you for the video, it was really well thought out and I always enjoy seeing what other yarns people are drawn to. That Yarn Nouveau golden yak skein was so stunning as well.
This video is amazing. You out so much work into it. Thank you. I just used Noro silk garden solo as the color work in my pressed flowers cardigan. I still have almost 2 full balls left. I also used the Juniper Moons Moonshine for a cowl and want a sweater in it so badly. It is so soft.
what a nice video. Just wanted to say that the Holst really softens up when you wash out the spinning oil, but also that it bleeds a lot in the first wash, just something to be aware of if you are doing colorwork with it.
Thank you and thanks for the heads up! I'll make sure to wash it by itself. Especially since it's a deep red, I think I'll stick to a one-color garment 😊
Thank you so much for all the research and detailed work you did for this video. I learned and enjoyed it so much. I am telling my knitting friends about you and your podcast.
I love the Tolsta tee! Especially the yellow version at 15:30. Where would I get the exact directions on how to make that? Also, your selection of sweaters were really good picks. I really enjoyed this podcast.
Thank you! Here's the project page for the yellow Tolsta: www.ravelry.com/projects/Coconknits/tolsta-tee-3. She gives some info on her modifications there and links to a couple tutorials. :)
Contiguous set in sleeve is the technical name of the shoulder. I prefer sweaters with these shoulders over any other. I really like the look feel and wear of them, the cap sleeve looks good. They are the closest fit to piecing a sweater together.
Knit pro have the non-US sizes and use the same cords as knit picks & premier (Debra Norville) needles. Congrats on the sample knitting with luxury yarn!
Very lovely knits. Your flowers are spectacular, especially the peonies, one of my favourites Just noticed that the suri alpaca label says 300 meters and so that converts to 328 yards. And since those are the specs on my suri alpaca yarns, I think you need to check with the dyer to see if a labeling mistake was made Also on her website it states 328 yards. Just an FYI.
Thank you! The peonies feel extra special, because I had to wait a few years for them to bloom after planting. Now we get to enjoy them! And thanks for the tip about the suri label! I'll check that out and let the dyer know. ❤
