I had this happen when my insurance dropped me for 2 hail claims in 5 years. They claimed to have sent out notice and a refund for the prepaid 1 year coverage, but i never recieved. The forced place is very expensive and subpar coverage. For me my rates when from under $1000 almost $3000K per year. Ive had two acts of god claims in 20 years, but they were too close together apparently. Insurance has become a scam IMO. You pay in and pay in and as soon as they pay out, thru no fault of yourown, they can drop you like a hot potato.

I know a LPN nurse who was injured at work by a patient who actually was an inmate of a jail in FL. this nurse afraid she’ll loose her job because the hospital has BIG LAWYERS. I got my refund after 3 months for a tv they shipped me after I said I don’t want before it shipped and it sent back when I did arrived. They missed the date they said I would get my money by 3 seperate times, each time they confirmed that they already had it back in the warehouse and accepted it. It was a $2400 tv I bought on Black Friday on a Black Friday deal, the next day it was same price but included an additional 2 year warranty past manufacturer. The refused to give me the same deal so I cancelled before it ever shipped as I scheduled a in house delivery for 2 weeks out, but they refused to not ship, and said I must accept and then return. It was so crazy shit
A lot of big companies systematically and tactically break laws if they have knowledge that the punishment is less than the profit that they'll make. Goldman and Sachs is very guilty of this same make it a pure practice to break every single if it is profitable to break them. Goldman and Sachs also use shell companies to protect themselves from direct liability by using false CEOs which just do what ever they say basically. The government has failed to increase punishments put into it. The only way to put it into it is to make sure the cost of breaking the law is higher then the profit but government just sees it as a way to steal taxes from the poor people exchange for allowing the big companies to steal from the little people.
The other one that gets me is that I buy items from Amazon US on a monthly basis and this incurs duty in my country. But Amazon withholds more than will actually be paid. Thats ok, and they do refund the difference - about four months later. Everything is electronically processed, even my liaison with the importing agent is via an app, so it should not take that long. So someone is sitting on a massive cache of all these small refund amounts drawing interest for them.
This is strange to me because i have always got my refunds from them. No matter how much it was and most of the time they dont even ask you send the item back they will just refund you the money. No reason to get a broken item back.
