due to sight disability, i have to hunt with optics to see. on my second ki bow.....last summer bought a vital x and i really like it with the added ki crank system. the total arrow 400 grainers with my usual 100 gr mechanicals did not group well at distance with the 400 fps speed, so went to the lighter ki arrows and up to 150 gr ki mechanicals. grouped like a charm at 60 yds with total wt of just over 450 gr with lighted chinese nock. shoots around 380 to 390 fps and is pretty quiet as well! nice deer you killed last year. enjoyed the video! used to love going to canada to fish.
Hey! Thanks for posting the video. I live quite close to darlington, less than 5 minutes away. I've always known about this spot, however I've never hunted it- walked it a whole lot though. How close are the blinds to eachother? Are other blinds calling at the same birds you are?
... absolutely refreshing to see a hunter who is NOT following the youtube fad of packing a huge culvert pipe sized multi-power variable scope on a shotgun or short rang brush hunting levergun
... before I add ammo to my "take hunting" supply I cycle every cartridge/shell through the gun I will be hunting with so I KNOW it will at least cycle through the gun with no problems ... this is especially important if you're hunting game like the bears that will attack you if provoked
Mike, great video. Can you share your settings on the hummingbird, as I'm having trouble dialing in the megalive to locate the walleye. Any help would be appreciated. Mark
Certainly, but there are some factors. Water clarity, debris in water being the biggest. I usually run the max distance to less than 70 feet and 50 feet is ideal I also drop my jig out ten feet in front of me and watch my screen, in I can't see it i increase sensitivity until I can. Then I just start scanning the weedlines from 40 feet out and look for fish.
This is amazing, man I love bertuzzi in Toronto. My 2 favourite things and makes me very happy it's the same for my man Bert. Great fish and go leafs :)
Greetings from South Eastern . As always I greatly enjoyed this video. It is super to see Mike hunting and and fishing in Ontario! I am wondering if you could possibly suggest where I could purchase some of the Browning 12 Gauge 3 1/2" #7 TSS Turkey ammunition. I have searched our local suppliers as well as some of the bigger stores and have not been able to find any. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Paul
Thanks so very much for the advice. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer me. All the best in the upcoming Turkey Season!!! I really enjoy the show, it's so good to see you enjoying some "local" hunting and fishing. Paul
read someone say they don't taste as good after more than 2 days and not good after freezing which all worries me because im planning to fill the bucket and obviously freeze most of them now not sure, should i fillet them all for freezing or can i just leave em whole?
what year was this filmed? you said 3rd week of may, is that the best time for them between last week of may and 1st week of june? because i was thinking of going mid march but i want to be sure and not waste a long drive and im targeting white bass or white perch or even if there is walley so please tell me is there anything worthwhile going in march or i should wait?
Brian is a great friend to have, I can vouch for that. Has put me into turkeys, ducks and deer. He is the guy you want fighting for your rights. I would happily explain why over a coffee any day
Absolutely… Even with my 20” barrel, I’m still getting more energy at 500 yards than I do with my 6.5 PRC at the same distance. I love both cartridges, but the Western is my go to when I’m on long hunts in steep country. Or in thinker underbrush due to the heavier grained projectiles.
I really am impressed, that you shot this deer with an old Excalibur Assasin 360 recurve crossbow. 2023 there is a much better Assasin 420 recurve with take down. It is quite fine to see, that you do not need high tech Compound crossbows. I like your way of hunting man !
Can you guys come to Europe please? They are a plague here, killing fisheries EVERYWHERE. Fish species are disappearing from streams and lakes all over but for some obscure reason they are protected by EU.
Congratulations hard work and lots of luck and the right wind,love watching you and August hunt together,Im goin after a deer I call Mr Perfect my first 10point after over 40years of hunting,so far just nighttime visits,patience is the Key,keep up the great content xc;
