Install the plain steel plates with the rounded edge facing *out*. When you pull the clutch in, the rounded edge is what moves against the tabs on the clutch basket... so they move slightly easier and therefore, disengage better. Pretty sure this is taught on manufacturer training courses ; )

The only reason it bothered me Tbf was that after I took off my own fuel filter to replace it, I second guess myself which way round the filter goes, and so was looking to your video, but could just make out which way round lol so wasn't been rude as such as was informative like I say 👌✌️

Yikes, I'm pretty late seeing this cluster, but all the same some others may see the comments. Does anyone else find that algorithms simply take you from one balls up to the next? ... Firstly, once you have removed that thing called the spark plug cap attached to the HT lead it pays to use compressed air to blow out anything that may have either gotten in there/been left behind by someone prior, and could I see what looked like a small stone sitting there waiting to be 'accidentally' bumped into the combustion chamber while the plug was out! That ring thing is a spark plug crush washer/gasket, you don't need to worry too much about the numbering on the ignition leads as they are almost always different lengths and to fit the wrong caps/leads will usually be obvious, and as someone else has already mentioned in the comments the best tool for the removal/refitting of the plugs is usually in the bikes tool bag and the use of a little copper grease.
Seems kind of counter intuitive to soak clutch discs that depend on friction to work in oil ( I’m not a motor bike mechanic just a car mechanic enthusiast
Simbelun that s*cks maybe you’re wrench is busted? Or the threads where overtightend in the past? Anyway these are the specifications by the manual. Just checked it; 12Nm is correct. You’ve got the Suzuki bandit 2001 I assume?
Yes, i've checked the manual as well, they say 12nm. Yes, mine is 2001 600cc. I don't know the exact cause of this (i'll check later if my tork wrench is calibrated), but i've found out on facebook, that it happened to some other owners as well. Some of them told me that torking springs to 10nM is enough. The real problem now is to decide wether to use the old clutch hub or replace it, because the threads are a little bit damaged (some metal scraps got out when i pulled out the screws).
@@vanhoutsdeket What I mean is the toolkit that comes with your bike. It's supposed to be under your seat. Now, in the toolkit is a sparkplug wrench. That's the one that I used today! If you don't have the toolkit, maybe I can send you a link where you can buy one. I'll try my best! :)

Hey, first of all, thanks for the video Now what I'm missing is: those 2 entrances from 8:35 ? when I lifted my deposit they weren't connected to anything. There is a pipe under the deposit which I guess it should be connected to one of those. But still, I'm missing the other pipe. So, I only see one of the pipes and none of them were connected to the deposit from the beginning. I don't see those pipes either in your bike but other vids with the same bike have them. Any idea of what is going on? Thanks
Would worn or damaged clutch plates make a rattle noise? I'm getting the rattle noise after riding a few miles. I'm guessing something heats up and starts to make the noise.
When you were torquing the outer bolts (holding the pressure plates) did the whole clutch basket assembly spin? I've seen a tool that holds the basket still and checking to see if I need it. Thanks!
Would a worn or broken pressure plate cause the rattle noise? Mine has a vibration/rattle noise and usually when the engine gets hot and when I have the gear engaged. Would you think the pressure plate housing(?) also cause the noise?
UK for brexit 29/03/19 you probably can buy them at the local dealer or a motorcycle shop or something. I bought them at motorrad (they have a lot of that stuff) in Germany, but i could also buy them at motoport in The Netherlands.

I have a 2002 Suzuki Katana and i need to change my spark plugs this video was great i just purchased a magnetic spark plug socket here in the us i needed that. It's magnetic that keeps the spark plug type inside the socket until you put it out so thanks for the info I couldn't find the exact one that you had so I purchase a magnetic 5/8 it's the same size as your 16 but in America it's just a 5/8

If you look closely you can see that when he takes them off they're in a 1:1 ratio, they just all come off together, stuck together by the oil. he then reuses those plates in between each new clutch plate.
