Russia is a transcontinental country, meaning it spans across two continents: Asia and Europe. The Ural Mountains are generally considered the dividing line between Europe and Asia, and Russia has territory on both sides of the mountains. The part of Russia that lies in Asia is often referred to as Asian Russia or Siberia, and it makes up about 75% of Russia's total land area. This region includes many ethnic groups, languages, and cultures that are distinct from those in European Russia. Historically, Russia expanded its territory into Asia through conquest and colonization, particularly during the 16th to 19th centuries. The Russian Empire sought to expand its influence and control over the region's natural resources, trade routes, and strategic locations. Today, Russia's presence in Asia is significant, with many important cities, industries, and cultural centers located in the region. Some of the key reasons why Asia has Russia include: 1. Geographical continuity: Russia's territory extends naturally into Asia across the Ural Mountains. 2. Historical expansion: Russia's imperial past led to the colonization of Asian territories. 3. Economic interests: Russia seeks to exploit Asia's natural resources, trade routes, and markets. 4. Strategic location: Russia's Asian territory provides access to the Pacific Ocean and borders with key Asian countries. 5. Cultural diversity: Russia's Asian region is home to many distinct ethnic groups, languages, and cultures. Overall, Russia's presence in Asia reflects its complex history, geography, and cultural diversity.

Lula paid off FHC's immense debt. Fernando Henrique Cardoso (FHC)'s government, center-right, took Brazil to the highest level of international debt up to 2002. Lula, left, took office by a landslide in 2003, from then onwards he paid off the whole sum of his predecessor's debt.

why are there so many pple speak English? including Indians?
@iqraaziz4224
@iqraaziz4224 4 дня назад
There are several reasons why English is widely spoken around the world, including in India: 1. *Colonial legacy*: English was imposed on many countries, including India, during the colonial era. As a result, English became the language of government, education, and commerce. 2. *Globalization*: English has become the language of international business, trade, science, technology, and entertainment. 3. *Education*: English is often the medium of instruction in schools and universities, even in non-English speaking countries. 4. *Economic opportunities*: Knowing English can provide better job prospects and higher salaries. 5. *Cultural influence*: English-language media, such as movies, TV shows, and music, are widely popular globally. 6. *Language of the internet*: English is the dominant language of the internet, making it essential for online communication and access to information. 7. *Lingua franca*: English has become a common language for people from different countries to communicate with each other. In India specifically: 1. *British colonial rule*: English was introduced during the British Raj (1858-1947) and became the language of administration, education, and law. 2. *Education system*: English is widely used in Indian schools and universities, especially in urban areas. 3. *Economic growth*: India's economic growth and IT industry have created a high demand for English language skills. 4. *Cultural factors*: English is often seen as a status symbol and a key to social mobility in India. Today, an estimated 1.5 billion people speak English, which is about 20% of the global population. India has the second-largest number of English speakers, with around 125 million people speaking English as a second language.

Most speaks Ant language - coz ants are the largest population in the world. It is silly to show that russian is spoken by 260 mil. only, because only they are 150 mil. Also is well known that the most popular language in the world after English is Russian. Why? Because easily a quick reference shows that more than 1/3 of scientists and discoveries in the world were made by Russians.

The former Soviet states speak russian. No one else does. From my own travel experience, you only need english and spanish, and it depends on the country, but you will find someone who speaks either, even in Russia.

😂😂😂How old are you bro? 10? 11? They don't count the population, they count how many people can speak these languages. All post Soviet countries can speak Russian, which is why they are also included. And most scientists are in the past, not now. Lastly, how Russian can be second most spoken language if it has not even reached 1billion like Mandarin? Go and do your homework bro😂😂😂

Popular doesn't mean most spoken. French still has a high profile, in that many people understand it, if not use it all the time. It is used as an alternative language to English in international events, such as the Olympics, as they figure globally most people will be able to follow one language or the other.
