I am Kevdog and I post Pokémon-related content! I currently make videos on mostly Pokémon Scarlet and Violet but post other Pokémon videos on occasion. I do my best to make people happy and informed, and would absolutely love if you'd subscribe to the channel to help me on this journey!
So then nintendo will get sued for the same thing. Ubisoft can sue them over the tower mechanic in zelda breath of the wild since its stealing from assassin's creed
Recently got violet after being on the fence about getting a switch. Wanted Mew & Flutter mane and found out I cannot get Mew and maybe not even Flutter Mane such a bummer as I really love both of them. Hopefully they'll do another mystery gift and i can get mew and if flutter is a gift only hopefully the same happens. Great vdeo thanks for the help / codes!
Gen 5 remakes only out if there's gen 10 Pokemon Here's the pattern Remakes = newest Gen / 2 Example Heartgold Soul silver out after gen 4 because 4 divided 2 is 2 (remake gen 2) ORAS out after gen 6 because Remake gen 3 = gen 6 divided 2 BDSP out after gen 8 because Remake gen 4 = gen 8 divided 2 Using this pattern it means that Gen 5 remakes only happened after gen 10 is released
It's an odd decision for sure, but I'm on Pockrtpair's side. If Palworld was using stolen assets or AI generation as some people accused, then yeah, they have a case. But the successful suit of patenting a game mechanic in Japanese court could hold problematic for future cases of mechanic patenting, which is something that's existed for a while. If Nintendo loses, that could be a step towards changing patent law when it comes to game mechanics
This lawsuit is crazy, they have a patent on the idea of catching a creature, which is incredibly dumb. Personally, if they made good games, indie devs wouldnt have to step up
All PalWorld has to do Is change the method of capture So now what they need to do is make a 40mm rotary eight shot grenade launcher that captures the pals. You get various sorts of capture capsules that plunk out and wallah. It's not the capture method that Nintendo put a pat on.
They may struggle legally, I think. Pokémon didn’t invent animals, the problem Pokemon used inspiration, so did Palworld. It’s only theft if they steal your product so it’s a direct copy inspiration isn’t criminal. There has to be enough distinct differences, which there is. Secondly, as for patents, they don’t necessarily protect your product. They only protect what you want it to, that’s why eg. TEMU can bring scrub daddy/rebrand it. Even after all that. They HAVE TO PROVE as a result of this the suffered loss, pretty hard to do when it’s most successful game of all time released at the same time as palworld.
Well they should sue em. Their game is a knock off of pokemon. I know they are suing them for patent infringement but you get the point. First horrible movie reboots and now dumb knock offs of a popular franchise 😂.
Anybody that's actually played palworld and pokemon realizes it's not just "pokemon with guns" yes the animals looks similar some look almost identical like wooloo but if they win this case I'll be pissed. I really enjoyed pal world it's exactly what I want in a game, I hope it gets finished
The original statement from 7 months ago did not specify copyright infringement. It stated "Pokémon intellectual property or assets " and patents are a type of IP.
Hope dragon quest, megami tensei, persona, and final fantasy tag team and sue the pokemon company as well for crazy patents as well and stops this crazy nonsense from this company. Look i love both Pokemon and palworld but this is just non sense at this point. Let people have fun other monster taming games not just have a monopoly that in recent years has only produced one okayish game that performs poorly even when the switch is docked. Honestly i wish digimon was the one who got all the lovd back in the day cause i feel like they arent as petty and evil as the pokemon company at this point.
Me: Palworld is getting sued...? That sucks, it looked like a fun game. Nintendo Stans: serves them right, f*ck Palworld. Me: you really need to get laid.
If you find the patent and read it, it's pretty vague tbh. Looking around the patent in question is "STORAGE MEDIUM STORING GAME PROGRAM, GAME SYSTEM, GAME APPARATUS, AND GAME PROCESSING METHOD" TL;DR Nintendo has the very concept of throwing an item at a creature and capturing it Patented.
Damn if that’s what they have the patent on then they could have tried to sue Ark survival because it had cryopod things you throw at a creature to store it, but people would think that would be stupid for Nintendo to do, so I think suing palworld is too
I hope they don't win, because Pokemon should have successful competitors. I say that as someone who understand that they have a case and is much more interested in Pokemon
if it was a sucessful competitor nintendo wouldnt be suing them to begin with, and if there going for games like yokai watch next chances are those series will thankfully only get a slap on the wrist at worst since unlike palworld they cant be mistaken as a pokemon game by the litteral first glance
