@@jw200it’s a great insulation material. From what the package says it has a better insulation value then say arma flex. The only downside is that it’s a pure hassle to get up. So pros: cheap, good insulation value Cons: a lot of work getting it up Don’t get it mistaken though for a heating source in the van. If you don’t have a heater or something in the van then once it’s cold it’s cold
this is more of an overal flow of the build and the end result. for tools and suchs there are full episodes on how everything was done. its a little bit more in depth
Car trouble is very frustrating. Especially if it can't be reproduced or explained. Glad you found a wonderful parking spot in the mountains. Great video Murf.
Thank you !! It was very very frustrating and extremely tireing !! All and all it disappeared after fiddling with the wheel and back home managed to find it and fix it so happy ending after all.
Nice job, good of you Dad to lend a hand too. Bit different to my Iload though. Goin to be expecting your kids'll make some changes to it and still be drivin it in 30 years.
Thank you. Yeah my dad was a big help even when not helping with lifting or cutting or rough stuff like that he was still a huge source of knowledge that I could pick every now and then. Hardly had to Google woodwork stuff
Nicely done video, thanks for sharing! May I point out that if your lonely single hiking that is not exactly the way to be not lonely. Love yourself, love the experience, love the quietness. If that doesn't appeal to you that's OK, just find a partner that likes to do the same and continue! Just don't push yourself into doing or being something or someone your not because society says you have to. It's your journey, you should enjoy it, in anyway you need or want to. Safe trails, beautiful scenery and peace be with you! I liked and subscribed, again well done!
the soap ( and otherwise spit ) is a great way to mold the sealing without it sticking to your fingers or tools. both have something in them that basically does that. so for small sealings just spit on your finger and for bigger projects i recommend getting a cheap kids soap
Worked with plants mostly, I didn't know anything about power tools hahah that's where the knowledge of my dad really helped me. I hardly had to Google or RU-vid stuff when it came to carpentry. Thank you very much for the nice compliment ☺️
Thank you !! I'm kind of an outdoorsy guy so showers are usually a morning dip in a river of just heat up some water on the stove. The toilet is a compost toilet tucked away. I do have a separate video on the build of the toilet ☺️☺️👍
Watched all of this video...and can I say that you and ya dad made quite a duo doing this build ...your a very lucky lad..having your dad Co build with you ...I've built two vans on my own ...but I Would have liked my old man helping me a few times ...but he's not around any more god bless him ...cracking job ..by the way ...
thank you very much and yeah saying that my dad was a huge help on this bus would be an understatement. sorry to hear your dad isnt here to see what im sure is some super nice vans youve build
@@murfmontane4786 Ok, thanks. I also want to travel to the Netherlands. And want to learn some dutch words for this. I had a friend from the Netherlands. Dutch people are so great, like the austrian people.
@@murfmontane4786 I like most, the Dutch People. And the service. However in a Restaurant, a Cafè, at a Campground, etc. They offer all, what the customer may wish.
The side panel insulation is a typical choice. The R value of bubble foil is nihil. It's more for reflecting heat from radiator. Looks nice for the finish.
this type of insulation had a slightly higher R value then arma flex it was just a pain to work with but it safed my quite alot of money. think i read somewhere that arma flex has 0.7R value and this had 1.2. but that what the package said haha ive done a few trips in november and february in the ardenne forest it is doeble but i am planning on getting a diesel heater
@@murfmontane4786 are you sure? I've seen Greg Virgoe do a video were it was just good enough as vapour barrier. The R value on the reflecting bubble foam is giving as when both sides have an air gap of minimum 20mm. So the contact to the steel panels is reducing this a lot. Not to bust your idea here. Just trying to figure it out, whether it's a good idea to adapt.
I'm definitely not sure haha just a quick Google on what the package said Vs what Google said over arma flex. It does say on the packaging that it often used in caravans
Not all bubble foil is created equal. Few years ago I had to make a prototype ice-cream car/cycle. After a lot of research and expert advice I ended up with a aluminium bubble foil as the best insulator. Better than PIR plates. Expensive for a van though.
im currently working on the van tour it self but had to give some stuff a lick of paint and fix stuff that i broke since i was traveling but i will start uploading again soon !!!
seen some of your hikes and travels pass by on the grammm aswell. please do hit me up if you ever wanne do a hike in the future or if you find yourself in the south of france in the near near future
