i believe theres only one rule of BMW, you have to live in central europe, then these parts aint so expensive and gas has higher quality, these cars are common and many places does only them...
I had received this car for almost nothing because it came to me smoking. Only thing that was wrong was a crankshaft sensor and the bottom cross member had taken an uppercut from a speed bump. Forcing the radiator to touch the engine fan. Also suffers clear coat issues from factory. Solid car. Good car. Smooth. Got it 190k. Now it’s 250k. I’ve had a couple cars but this one made me feel blessed. 99 w210 E430

I owned a 1995 xg xr6 Ute, 5 spd manual for nearly 20 years , After a year of working for walker exhaust warehouse , I put on a basic Lukey header , kept exhaust 2.5 inch .took off the old system with a square front resy, large main muffler and rear resy, replaced with ACMS 2.5 pipes , offset centre lukey muffler and a lukey 6inch diametre (2.5 internal) rear resy and it sound mint , a nice rumble at idle , smooth deep note , no drone or pop , nice on down shifts , k+n filter , with modified air box made it even better .. Did nothing for power tho .. But sounded way better than the boys in the club , with their full stainless exhaust drone n tiny sound .. Glass pack as straight as ya can get it mufflers , all steel .. I miss that car ...😮
On these cars, the following goes out: fuel pump, overdrive, prop shaft center bearing, water pump and air filter box and alternator regulator. Benefit from 4 point spark plugs. Yours would perform a lot faster with a steam clean through the air intake with the engine running. Mine was the 2.3 litre and was advertised as 114bhp, but it performed like it had about 160. Maybe I just got a good one idk? It used to get to 40mph in about 4 seconds.
