This was a great video and I agree 100% on this! It's so sad how their relationship ended or how the showrunners dropped it. Everyone who speaks about how "unnatural" the love between Variants is makes me mad because what about Wanda/Vision, Thor/Jane?..so many uncommon couples in the MCU yet they don't seem to have a problem with them, but Sylki is strange and disgusting?! I don't get the hate! I hope sooo much that we see them again and that they get their happy ending! They deserve it!! ❤️🔥🙏

The reasoning from the writer/showrunner/producer (can't remember who it was) was so WEIRD. "The universe might end so there was no time for emotions like that." That is EXACTLY the time for emotions like that. Emotions are going to run HIGH in situations like that. And it's not just their relationship not being resolved. It's Sylvie's PLOT not being resolved! "What did she do that caused the end of her world" was such a HUGE question. It was asked multiple times, we're left only with theories based on a short flashback, Sylvie's been asking herself it for a thousand years and then it's completely DROPPED. I get Sylvie has a new life, I do. And we see that trauma and hate from her old life being taken away in her hatred for Kang and the TVA and her utter anger and hatred throughout the ENTIRE series. And it justifies her feelings. Every loss and ever betrayal, her anger makes sense to me (even though I got really tired of it and wished they'd move onto other stuff, which was partially due to this whole thing--moving on with her relationship with Loki and unfinished plot). The reasoning's there, but we're not actually addressing the elephant in the room! Sylvie had a giantass plot point hanging on at the end of the first season that was being hyped for some sort of big reveal. But it and her entire backstory was almost completely dropped (yes, yes, the reason she was so adamant on killing Kang and getting revenge on Ravonna was her backstory but I'm guessing you know what I mean). I want Sylvie to come into the movies for a number of reasons. I think she had more to her personality from what we saw in season 1 and want that to be shown again instead of us ending on how she was shown in season 2, I want to see the myth of Loki trapped at the roots of the World Tree with only his wife to visit him mimicked by finding out Sylvie has been using He Who Remain's tempad to visit Loki, I want to see Sylvie interact with Thor, I want to see Loki be freed and be able to resolve his and Sylvie's story and them be together, AND I WANT SYLVIE'S ORIGIN STORYLINE TO BE CONCLUDED! I think "Loki" season 2 was a great show. But I think "Loki" season 2 was a bad sequel.
This is a GREAT 6 -1hr episode series! The cast is great and the story sucks you in - even though the first two episodes (because it was a build-up) seem slow - the rest of the show isn't!
honestly, why didn't loki take sylvie with him to the end of time? i mean, they ARE stronger together so imagine how easily they could've broken the loom together? plus, they'd have each other's company and loki wouldn't be alone. but then again, sylvie's already happy with her new life at mccdonald's.
I don't think she was really happy there. I mean sure she was enjoying her new life with no fighting and running, but that her "I'm happy" was more of a mask and she missed Loki and hoped he'd tell her it was all about her too (like the bar scene, after she looked very unhappy in the record store). But Loki wanted more for her, which is true love when he wanted everything for her when he lost everything himself. But it's sad. They both deserve the same, to be happy.
@@gods_of_mischief i agree. i just finished watching the video and i can see now that the sylvie in the 2nd season isn't the same one we saw in the 1st season and it makes me really sad. i looked up who the directors were for both seasons and Kate Herron directed the first season, while Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directed the second season. which makes me wonder how different the 2nd would've been if Kate Herron had come back to help direct the 2nd season.
@@gods_of_mischief yeah he apparently helped with doctor strange multiverse of madness which is why it "wasn't that great", according to what i read. i just wish marvel had asked Kate Herron to help with the 2nd season bc they needed at least one female director's opinion.
I absolutely agree with every word. Season 2 loses the meaning of season 1 in many ways, and it's not even just about Loki and Sylvie. Another big problem is the sad, confused Loki, who hasn't been able to get along with Sylvie for 6 episodes and makes this sacrifice. After similar sacrifices in the previous films, this does not resemble the second chance that season 1 talked about. The metaphor of understanding and self-love breaks down in Season 2 and becomes even more painful, because in this case, does Loki not understand and forgive himself? Sylvie is also left with this burden, not to mention that her arc was very poorly written in season 2. There are also a lot of holes, and it is possible to do this whole path to the sacrifice in 1 episode - It's still bad because literally all the characters and everything can be deleted. Loki will never kill Sylvie anyway, he will always choose this option with the victim. I'm very sorry that season 2 is mostly sad to watch, Loki doesn't even smile openly during the whole season, he is constantly tense and it is very noticeable. It's a real shame. The video is incredible and everything is very, very true, thank you!
Thanks for the awesome comment! Yes, both Loki and Sylvie deserved much more. First season are incredibly separate from the second season and it's like two different projects with a completely different idea. I'm so sorry, the story of the first season is so original and beautiful, and the second season is again only betting on the established classics of the superhero life without the right to happiness. That negative tension spoils the entire viewing.
Very good video. I hope we get a happy ending between Sylvie and Loki at some point. It's true that Sylvie is not unlike Amora and I hope that Sylvie will become our MCU sorceress. Sylvie has great potential, it would be a shame if it wasn't used
Sylvie was basically The Enchantress by another name. The history of Enchantress and Loki working together is long in Marvel Comics. I saw those two as that, especially given how much Sylvie resembles the Enchantress.
She’s not merely the Enchantress by another name, she is literally based on Sylvie Lushton, the second Enchantress. The marvel website itself confirmed that. Comic! Sylvie was a teenage girl magically created by Lady Loki ! to be an “imposter” version of Amora. Her home base was Broxton Oklahoma, where our Sylvie lives in season two. (Fun fact, the first place we ever saw Sylvie in season 1 was also Oklahoma). Comic! Sylvie has a very similar personality to both Amora and Loki (who are very similar to eachother) and starts out trying to be a hero, only to become darker and more morally gray, not dissimilar to our Sylvie. She is also the Enchantress most?associated with the Young Avengers, which is the era the MCU is headed towards. She’s a loose adaptation, but is undeniably a variant of Sylvie Lushton. She *is* Enchantress.
