A place for uploading historical figure skating videos. I've been a fan of the sport for over 30 years and am working as a historian on a massive skating project in my free time.
I'm happy to share my collection. I do not monetize my channel, so all ads are from RU-vid itself. The video and audio conditions range from excellent to poor, typically from US television coverage.
Yes, this where it got interesting and confusing in the kiss n cry. Before he skated, zagorodniuk had the majority of 3rd place or better, then after vlascenko, candeloro had the majority of 3rd or better, giving him 2nd in the free. Wasn’t over until it was over. I still have the ordinals before and after he skated.
Rest In Peace Igor. <3 Loved his clever entry into the spin at 2:20, going from the catchfoot spiral right into the donut spin, without ever taking his hand off the blade. Pretty cool. With this program, at 3:36, he kinda originated the "6 - jump - sequence"! ;) 3S-3F-3T(just 2 here)-3Lz2T-3Lo. Talk about backloading a program - before there was a bonus for doing so! Alina Zagitova would be proud! ;) Puh-leeease-keep-em-coming!! :D
So cool to be able to see this programme of Elvis skated cleanly! :) I only saw it from the 93 Worlds, where he had an off day. I always wondered how it would come across if skated clean. (I liked the music of the Killing Fields by Mike Oldfield, which Lenka Kulovana had used for her 91-93 Free Skate) Turns out, I just had to wait 31 years to find out! ;) Thank you so much!! :D
Nice, I saw their 1993 french nationals LP but not this one, thanks. If you have Moniotte winning FD at the following Lalique trophy, thats the only Orfeu Negro I'm missing. Ovsiannikov was there too.
“…Some day down the road Maria Butyrskaya just may break that trend” Yes. March 27, 1999 was the day Maria Butyrskaya became the first Russian World Champion in Ladies.
