Was there with family members this past December and stayed 2 nights. We were upgraded to this exact panoramic room but unfortunately I wasn't impressed. Not sure why they upgraded us but considering how much the original lower tier rooms cost, it's pricey and you really only pay for the scenery. Areas which needs improvement: 1) Lobby area was big and that's about it. No wow, grand factor whatsoever. I'm usually not the picky type but since its called the Grand Lexis Hibiscus hotel so create an unforgettable experience when your guests walk in. Instead, I find fake plants and flowers in the lobby, really? Malaysia is a tropical country, so it feels tacky and cheap. 2) Room layout is poor. The switch wiring was inconsistent (you had to guess which direction is ON/OFF), and it's all over the place. 3) The room's fit and finish were poor. You can clearly tell there a mix of new and old, different colored LED light as well as speaker grills. It's the same situation in the pool area. Apparently, the painters were too lazy to cover them while painting, so they just simply smeared paint all over it. 4) The idea of putting a TV behind the glass wall in between the beds is a good concept, but execution was poor. TV wasn't working, so we had to call someone to fix it. The glass wall size was impressive, but the TV is small, and what a waste of space. Not to mention the glass has fingerprints all over it and you can't get rid of the sun glare on the TV itself from the side and top opening from the beds even if you close the blinds unless you have a upper tier bright TV.
Great trip report! Qantas have significantly cut back on the food offering over the years, given the price of a ticket, agreed, disappointing. I also agree, the seat is a winner. Let's hope QF will improve their food offering in all classes.
AVOID SCOOT AT ALL COST if you value your time and money.. Scoot lost my Armani coat, which was in the checked-in luggage, and they refused to compensate for the loss. I followed all the steps and provided all the supporting documents, but the airline refused to compensate for the lost item without explaining why. What is even worse is that Scoot keeps wasting your time by repeating "you should do this and you should do that" again and again. For more than a month, I have been trying to talk to the department which is in charge of this matter, but no one was available.
Hi thanks for the review! I am planning to take Scoot Plus in Nov to Melbourne from Singapore but hearing the trouble in flight changes and no refund , i am on the fence. No. I just flew singapore to Melbourne yesterday actually and no one asked for anything. However, I think I did have to declare whether I had been vaccinated or not when filling in the online form for Singapore entrance. I don't know what happens if you say no though.
Awesome review and showing what i missed out (at least seat wise) when a Perth to Sydney business class flight i was booked on last year was bumped from a 330 to a 737!
