I have many propagations of Fred Ives too & noticed it seems to be prone to mealybugs during certain times of the year but I just love the colours of it so much. I ended up placing Francesco Baldi/Darley Sunshine propagations into a hanging basket this year because of its draping nature so I think it might look better like that.

Thank you for a longer video. 🙏🏽 Sorry for the loss of your relative. Understandable that you’ve taken a break. I can relate to this hobby getting out of control too. I started in 2018 and for the past 2 years all I’ve been doing is repotting and propagations. I am cutting back now because I also have a chronic illness which makes continual propagations & maintenance a bit exhausting & time consuming. Perth’s climate is similar to California but even though the conditions are ideal I find that the thinner leaved varieties of echeverias struggle when summer starts so I tend to grow more graptosedums, Graptopetalums, sedeverias, graptoverias, sedums etc. I have started doing big potted displays for my front and backyard which is easier to maintain. I also find that with the smaller potted succulents they grow to the size of the pot so you can keep them smaller and just refresh the soil every year. I have all my smaller pots on plant stand displays now. I’ve given away lots of propagations to friends & family. I still have a handful of succulents on my wish list such as aeonium Pink Witch, Pinky Trumpet & e. raindrops but generally I have enough now to keep me occupied. This succulent obsession can get out of control so easily! lol
