My Siamese cat brought home one of these tiny cottontail babies totally unharmed and gave her to me. I named her Bramble, and cared for her until she was big enough to return to the wild.
After a couple of hours, we were able to see where the nest was across the yard, and put bunny back. We saw babies for the next few weeks before they went elsewhere!
Last week I went to mail a letter at my local post office, which has a set of drive by mail boxes in the parking lot, in a grassy island. I stopped my car to put a letter in the box, and there in front of it, a few feet away, was a little animal. At first I thought it was a chipmunk, but looked again and saw that it was a tiny bunny that looked just like the one in this video. So cute. It sat there for about 30 seconds, then hopped into the grass around the mail boxes. It seemed to be alone, no mother rabbit or siblings. I hope it survives living where it is, or goes somewhere safer. This is in the middle of town, not really a good habitat for wild critters.
I rescued a little baby bunny with no mother, and he grew up to be a nice big healthy bunny! His name is Hermit, but I think he’s actually a she, so I call her Hermie.
Man my home airport is untowered and also a base for these sign towers. Whenever these guys are around and I'm practicing patterns, I'm like, I'll just hang out over here while you get whatever crazy crap you are doing done.
