Hi Phil. I know you fitted Gas Shocks to your MM at the front (possibly rear?) - I'm about to do the same to my Traveller - did you make a video covering this?. Thanks Graham

This is awesome spent hours dissecting the info on these dvds years ago with my dad before RU-vid took over. Since then I literally have not been to a garage for a single repair. Your dvds took me from not knowing how to change to a spare wheel, and can now rebuild an engine do clutches gearboxes and weld. Thank you sir you have literally saved me well over 20k. Best dvds I ever bought ;)
Oven cleaner is the business. I failed an mot due to an oil leak. So I took it home and oven cleaned the engine. Passed with flying colours. Every mot i did an oven clean on the way in and never failed
I bought the dvd that discussed the whole process and thought it was well worth the cost. It’s a shame that it doesn’t seem to be available any longer. This segment is a poor representation of the more useful and interesting material that he produced on the dvd. Please bring that back.
Complete waste of time. Spray oven cleaner on the gearbox and other bits, then pressure wash. Absolutely nothing about assembling it all together into a working turbocharged engine.
Get another socket that fits well between the center socket and the clutch fingers all around, and feel around with it; YOU SAVED MY DAY; I've been around youtube, searching, but i'll stop here; we both ,together, did the trick. This 1999 freelander i am working on(changing the crank,a hell of a job!!!)) has no pilot bearing(and no pilot on the shaft) and the hole in the crank is way bigger than the ID of the splines; on top of that i can't sight it,the chassis is on the way, imagine that; But now,i think i found the solution. I will also wrap some electrical tape around the socket to ensure it fits snugly in the splines and does not droop much.
Phil, how many man hours are we looking at to replace a td5 bulk head ? Would you recommend fitting a galvanised bulk head or staying with an original but new. I've been told a galvanised one is a pain to fit.
Apparently they twist right up....i am just about to remove mind and it all depends how badly corroded your bulkhead is. It took me the best part of a day to remove all the stuff bolted onto mine (includes drilling and grinding rotten bolts etc) I am repairing mine due to it being cheaper for me to do it myself, I would always encourage people to get hands on etc
Did you burn out your transmission pulling such a heavy load? I thought the connect motor was not strong enough please post answer curious bc want to buy a Connect
I would clean much deeper try to get off as much rust as possible and cover what you don’t what painted and use a rust reformer and automotive undercoating spraypaint do a fine even coat maybe two get a cheap spray paint can handle attachment super easy on the hands and looks much nicer and shouldn’t chip and peel the copping and peeling comes from rust continuing to develop under paint and cheap paint brushing also leaves thick layers that don’t bond as well
The only thing bad about playing in salt water is salt water. It's very abrasive and will absolutely ruin any type of electronics and machinery . Hope you washed the trucks completely. Find a good clean fresh water creek and take care of the underside of the trucks.
Hi phil,How could I get your corsa dvd,I go onto your link and it does not have a section to place my name and email, have you still got a copy of the dvd,
