Hi everyone. Welcome to HewittzHotWheelz. I'm just a diecast collector, and love most all things diecast, I have thousands of cars, trucks, etc. And just want to show them. I also peg hunt quite a bit, figure I might do some videos of it, and some "show and tell". I usually buy 3 of each hotwheel, 1 more me, 1 for my grandson, and an extra 1. I hope everyone enjoys diecast as much as I do, sub to my channel if you like, hope to see you there, take care, and keep hunting them treasures. I also have a website called hewittzdiecast.com where I sell extra cars and custom Hotwheels that I make. You can email me anytime at hewittzdiecast@gmail.com Thanks to everyone that supports my channel, I really appreciate it.
If you die and you can't take nothing with you then being a collector is an idiot thought process. Really think about a grown ass man hoarding toys that belong to children and then bitching about the prices and the availability.😂
@jaymiddlebrook5049 i get it, but if we looked at it like you can't take anything with you then why get anything at all? Just live day to day on the food you need. Now that would be an idiot process. ✌️😊
This is very true, same goes pretty much In everything "collecting".. Hard to come up model kits are In this same sled. Ebay has gone nuts and has not been reference point In determining value for a long long time. Take care Mr Hewitt 😎👍🏻, Bearded welder
Well another problem not alot is saíd why limit the production of these castings there is so many collectors and we all want 2 or three castings but ya can't find 1 .I cannot tolerate greed so wait because down the track a few months later you will find what you want for a better price,I put my own Realriders on and I have the same car for a fraction of what greedy collectors sell for haha😂love your channel Hewitts❤ ❤❤
I have a few friends I do a lot of trading with because that's what they prefer to do so we send pics back an fourth of cars we're looking for an I also throw in extras in myself I've also sold a car before because they didn't have anything I was interested in so I'd just take the cash an buy the car I'm actually looking for but anyways you do have a good point about it ... ✌️Out bro enjoy your evening
So to give you an example of waiting we all know that car yeah the pink candy striper I've seen it for 1thousand dollars and more how rediculous anyway I got for 1dollar at a garage sale not in box but it cleaned up good.Thete is alot of cars I don't have lots of incomplete sets but it's always a work in progress .collecting since 1977 and I think the internet changed collecting.peace everybody ✌️
I agree with what you say if you sell it yea you scalp unless you give deals every time and sell them for 1$ then your awesome but no one does that, its about making money to them, ill buy it because i cant find it and it hits my pockets
Nope im no scalper, im a collector i enjoy collecting what i like now i might grab a few because i could trade or customs, but i dont sell or try to sell, i feel a prime guy is die cash cars more worried about you comu to his what not and buy his products
Ive got lucky a few times over the years. I collect what i like if i find the valuable stuff great. so what i dont sell what i got all my stuff gets split between the 3 kids when i go. only buy extra 1 or so for customs. If i aint gonna customize it meh 1 is good for me. Most of the fancy stuff i have are from you and mr pruce lol. Id text ya but i know your sleeping now. Youve sent so much. extras are not needed. So many others could love them. You are mr pruce. Mr. pruce, and you are example of why we people from older year's still have hope in people. Hope all is well
I have come to terms that if you collect something, there will be scalpers selling it at over inflated prices. But I do not buy on the second hand market, as not to promote scalpers!
Just like on Jasons vid, this is pure gold James! Another point of view that makes so much sense. The bottom line is if HotWheels hunters/collectors want scalping and reselling to calm down and go away, they need to learn patience and stop supporting those who are in the hobby for the money. You hit a major point with the hypocrisy as well. You cant complain if you're part of the problem. 💯 Im with you James and I think so many are onboard as well, premium diecast models are the way to go. Im so happy Im not affected or frustrated about the HWs hunting aspect anymore. Huge weight lifted and I enjoy the hobby more than I ever have in the past 7 years. Great vid, James! 👊😁👍
I have been trying to stick to just VW’s, but cant find manny of those, I have yet to find the new transformer yellow VW bug. I haven’t bought any hot wheels off the pegs in some time, let alone finding any Treasure hunts. 🙄
It’s all about Supply and demand, don’t demand it, if I don’t find it my self, it takes all of the joy out of the hobby, I would rather give it away, rather than sell it, or trade, I will never buy from a scalper for a collection, if I’m giving as a gift, I may pay more for it. You are right on the money James..
I buy these cars because I think they are cool and I want them. When I die and they become my kids problem if he decides to sell them so be it, but that is not the sole purpose of me buying any diecast. I kinda quit paying extra money for cars when I went to the flea market and a guy that I would buy a dollar Hot Wheels car from for two bucks. He had the one set of red editions that I wanted and he wanted 35 bucks for it. At that point in time if I had to pay extra especially that much for cars that I wanted, I can just do what's out. I do send people things from time to time, but you know how it is trying to find something at the stores. I do thank you again. And I am very grateful you set me those yellow Porsche's because if it was not for you, I would not have them. Which I am still trying to find that something to send you, I just haven't found that something that had your name written on it yet. Anywho I guess I am part scalper Because if there is a car that I really want, there's 3 of them hanging there I'm taking all 3. The other part of me is hoarder, because I don't think I can sell anything lol. That guy that I was telling you about at the flea market that wanted 35 bucks for that set of red editions. He is one of the guys that I said my go to thing to, If you read my comment on the last video, then you know what I'm talking about. Sorry, brother, I did it again, get some sleep.
I just bought the Johnny Lightning SR5 Toyota Hilux Pickup in white, with an opening hood and tailgate. Its not really out here in the UK anywhere yet, and the shipping from the USA is usually too expensive. I paid about double the cost price, just because I liked it so much, its exactly what I would have made myself, but the big manufacturers make such an awesome job these days, its worth paying a little more, for a car you really want. Sure I could have waited for modelmatic in York to get some in, but Jon has a limited number he buys in, so you take the risk of missing out completely. Its about what the car is worth to you, and if you could make one yourself. Anybody can make a Super car, given they have very basic skills, it possible to make any kind of decals you want, but that takes time and effort. Things can also go wrong making cars yourself, as anyone knows who has tried to do it, a wheel swap for a super is childs play, just buy the basic and upgrade it with better wheels. Its not like the supers have a metal base anymore, so I just dont see the mass appeal. I dont want to get a car, because someone else days its super, the Toyota Hilux I just bought, is the best I have ever seen, but its a fraction of what the HW version goes for, and in my opinion, its nowhere near as good. Trading is the only fair way of getting and giving away cars, with like minded people. I have never found a STH yet, but I did find a ID batmobile once, which is pretty close, and I also found the premium chase black porsche recently, but I just told the store clerk about it, so he could pass it on to someone who deserved it, I just bought the plain orange version, because I liked it more. Anyone who will pay £100 or $100 for a 1:64 car, has money to burn, in my opinion, there is the occasional once in a lifetime casting that comes out, like the RLC Tradesman van, I went all out to get one of those for £60, which is way too much, but with shipping and the membership, thats not far of what RLC charged for it. In my opinion its the best 1:64 van ever made, so I got one. It has gone up in value like the RLC skyline I have, but would I sell it to make a profit?, no! because I like the car and I would never be able to afford another. My dicast helps me get through the bad days, when the pain and the migraines, get the better of me, so I dont regret any of the money I have spent on diecast, as I would not be here, if they had not given me the drive, to see what gets made, and also appreciate what I have too. Everyone should have a max price they will pay for a car, and that would be the way to go in my opinion. Have a poll on what the different cars should cost as a benchmark, and if we all stick to those prices, its the only way to effect the market price, with numbers of people who agree not to buy for too much. If a scalper cant sell their cars for the inflated price, they will have to reduce it, to get their investment back at least. I love to pickup bargains from scalpers, who have bought too much stock, and have to sell at a loss, thats the way to go, but people power works, your platform to reach so many people could make a difference, but its a pipe dream, as most people want to sell their car for more than they bought it for, they have had pleasure from it, so second hand, it should be half the price in my opinion, as a real collector, wants the car to out live them, and go on to give others pleasure. I have gone on a bit there, just like you, but maybe you can use my idea, about making a benchmark price for cars within our group. Scalping is just the "Emperors new suit of clothes" if you have ever hears that fairytale, about the invisible suit of clothing, but STH, TH and chase cars are exactly that, its a great marketing ploy. Mattel are laughing all the way to the bank, the more people scalp and drive up the price, the more they can charge for RLC and special cars, that just have special decals. They make very little money on a mainline car, but they make a killing on everything else they make. They stoked the fire with RLC, and they just heap more coke on the fire!
No I’m not a scalper but know many. I’m just a buyer for my personal collections and share my fines with family and friends. Agree 100% percent with what you’re saying about scalpers it is what it is. Never sold what I found. 😀✌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
@georgianapruse5254 Thanks, Mr. Pruse. And oh, I'm sure everyone knows you are not a scalper. It's unbelievable how generous you are. Everyone in the community knows that my friend. 👍✌️🤙
Kamala said this was going to be an opportunity based economy. How can I get the cars if I don't have the same opportunity? LOL!!!! Nice video James . I def hope you think a custom is better come next week. LOL
Back in 2019 when I first started collecting I didnt know anything about scalpers and I bought a couple of castings from an ebay seller / scalper because I wanted them real bad. But after I learned more in this diecast world about them I havent bought a thing from eBay. Or any other site. And in the 6 years of collecting i have never sold a single piece of diecast period. Sure I've traded. With fellow collectors back and forth. But its what we do as friends. Everytime I see a video of a diecast show on u tube there alway this one guy that will have 8 to 10 of the same castings for sale at a high price. And its alway a casting you've been hunting high and low for. And here he is with them all. And usually its the latest castings too that is supposed to be in stores right this moment. This is my Hobby. And I've really never had a Hobby before. Nuff said. ✌🏾😎
A benchmark price set for the group, is the only idea I can think of. If we all agree on a price for certain bands of cars, and we all stick to it, it will effect the price, people power is the only way to effect change, if we dont buy for these prices, they will have to come down, as who else will buy them?
I am surprised we are talking about this again. Scalpers and collectors have to live hand in hand. We both will always be here, no one going anywhere. Scalpers suck but it happens with anything a private citizen can resell anything bought from retail. Nature of the beast.
Its just the luck of the draw, but I have a set level of £10 for a special car, its has to be something extra special, to make me spend anymore than that. Why buy a car just because someone else says its special, its only special if you like it. A real collector does not care what a car is worth, just that they have a chance of getting what they like, and we all have a chance to get cars we like, so there is no real problem, its just some collectors are jealous of what others have, thats the real problem. If you want a car that badly, make it yourself. Hi Ratblacks, how are you buddy ? :)
Damn...you made this make so much sense. It's funny to think, if we want scalpers to go away, that means the collector has to leave as well. So we must co-exist 😮 mind blown!!!!
@@hewittzhotwheelz thanks brotha. Wasn't fun editing, but I think i pulled off what I wanted. I didn't want to make it feel randy, but more informational
Its different with convention cars, as they cost so much to begin with, because they are limited runs , plus there is the cost to travelling to the even to consider. I can understand a collector charging a 20% markup on the car, to get some of their money back for their trip. If people did not get extra cars, where would the people be, who could not attend the convention?
I would say, i would switch the term Scalper to maybe getting Sniped lol it's for those who catch the store on opening, and just snatch the goods before anyone can. We all do that to try to beat others.
@@hewittzhotwheelz yes James then the manager at the store gets smart and tells the guy I'll keep the supers and sell them my self and get 100% on the casting
ive been collecting since 95, scalping and first guy taking everything always been a thing. Its nothing new, only thing new is they now have a platform to gloat. Facebook, tiktoc, youtube has giving the scalpers a platform for attention.
Lick a nut sack is pretty good, I prefer eat a d/(<, that is my go to lol. This younger generation are a bunch of jagoffs, they think they are king of it all. Well brother, I don't think it's a coincidence, I think it's his way of getting back at you because he knows he would get his ass kicked👊. Even though we are getting older brother, we are still young at heart. I don't have a kickass car so I just cruise. The only people I'm passing is the order folks that drive slow as hell 🤣🤣🤣. If you have a go pro I would set that up in your car just to make sure that little jagoff isn't sabotaging your car. Later brother.
I was out of town over the weekend. It's cool to see I won a low rider. I missed out on getting one when realeased. Congrats to the other winners. Shuffle is good idea to have more random numbers👌
Cheers mucker 😁👍🏼 That’s crazy about you’re car,its my pet hate anyone messing with my shit. I’d keep an eye on this guy for sure 👊🏼💥 I say let the winners pick and give the numbers a week shuffle too Great show as always brother 😎✌🏼
