Hi guys and girls. We are a married couple just out there doing it!!!
We like to get out in nature and enjoy our days off and we thought we would share these special places/memories with you and hope to inspire you to enjoy our beautiful country too.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. We would like to thank you for all your support.
Morning, I do enjoy that ride you folks did. I normally go from silverdale to the rowing club then onto Tamahere. It is a lovely ride. If I am feeling motivated I’ll ride to the Veladrome, or Karapiro. The podium cafe at the Karapiro domain is very nice I have found having an e-bike is a great way for me to ride the trails in and around Hamilton, and get some much needed exercise! Thanks for posting the video
Hi Roger. Thank you for watching our video, it’s great to hear you get out and enjoy these beautiful trails and an e-bike makes it a bit more pleasurable for sure 👍
Totally agree with this Brent. I'm 71, and have been exercising (running, biking, swimming, kayaking) all my adult life, and endorphins have been my drug of choice. I've done a heap of events (runs, triathlons, multisports etc), but always way down the pack because I never over-trained, but always very satisfying and fun. I've always defined myself (amongst other things) as a regular runner/swimmer/biker/kayaker etc), which has been massively good for my mojo, energy and enthusiasm levels, mental health and all-round resilience. By sticking at it in moderation through thick and thin, and never over-doing anything, I have arrived at 71 still being able to do big swims and bike rides "at the drop of a hat", plus I kick around with like minded folk, all very good for the soul!
Hi. Thanks so much for your comment this really sparks my enthusiasm to keep doing what we do. Yes I agree with the fact that it helps with my mental health, physical health and all round good for me and the people around me. Keep it up 👍
Inspirational guys, that is one big climb and it even makes the hills around Lower Hutt and Wellington look a bit tame, so it's tentatively on my to-do list! Did your front brake pads give out on the way down?
Hi. Thanks for the message. It’s definitely one for the list….. and no my pads were already shot before doing this adventure and possibly would have been a good idea to fix them before doing it. But hey I did it and as you saw, my wife ended up running with the bike most of the way down 😂 as pretty tricky without both brakes functioning properly. Cheers Brent.
The ride was wonderful i highly recommend doing this. The Ambo staff were amazing, 30 stitches (face and hands) later that are mending well. Fell into the sharp quarry rocks off the side of the steep part of the track at the velodrome, didn't make my coffee....looked scrummy so glad you all did
Hope your mum is well with no lasting effects The Te Awa Trail is a great day out and just happens will be doing Cambridge/Tamahere and beyond today(waited for slightly warmer weather)
Yes mum is doing well and so far all good 👍 just her hand is still a bit nasty but drs are keeping a good watch on it. Enjoy your ride today guys. 👍 with hopefully a warmer day than we had 😀
It sure was. Had a lovely time but not long enough. We will have to go back and do the full trail around the whole island 100km and split it up. Will be another adventure for sure😊
Really beautiful around that area Did the Mangakino to nearly Atiamuri on a ETMB return one day and Mangakino to Waipapa dam another day which was way more gnarly and elected to return by road from Waipapa Great content

Hi guys. Sorry this video is pretty shakey due to some technical issues while videoing on the bike with rain etc and had to cut it short on our trip back to the car as the phone went flat so our last video we mentioned this as we were huddled in the car cold and wet but as we said it was a great ride. Hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed our ride👍
