Highstone car company routes can be traced back for four generations. Originally started by Harry Green in 1919. Harry was demobbed from the R.N.A.S and with small savings and a gratuity started repairing and selling W D Motor Cycles in the garden of his Fathers Pub in Hadley Highstone. In 1920 Harry purchased a Daimler Limousine and did chauffeur driven car hire In 1932 Harry took the Rootes agency and acquired a black smiths shop next door to the pub to turn into a garage. During the war years of 1939 to 1945 the garage was used for making parts for Spit fires.
After many changes other members of the family joined the original company in 1965 the company acquired the Rolls Royce franchise, in 1983 the Jaguar franchise and in 2002 the Land Rover franchise. The company offered a very personal service with customers returning time and time again to buy cars. There were generati
