Denny was my hero as a 13 yr old kid when he was winning 31 games in 1968. I was greatly saddened and heartbroken when his career collapsed and he had so many legal problems later in his life.
Mcguire bonds a rod not in hof but they work in baseball in some capacity a rod was in the running to buy a baseball team bonds Mcguire hitting instructors
I'm certain the ocean story is a myth, the high numbered cards were shipped to Venezuela each year starting in 1952. This is confirmed, significant quantities have been discovered there. Sy Berger was notorious for making up stories, and that was a time when people could and would say anything without fear of being fact checked. Topps never threw out a single card, they notoriously repurposed unsold inventory over the years. The closest those cards came to going into the ocean is when they were in a shipping container on a ship sailing to Caracas.
You’re spot on ! If you look back at players from 20s 30s 40s 50s some were horrible human beings and yet because of their baseball feats sit in the Hall of Fame it has become a popularity contest not a production driven accolade
I agree with everything in your video! It’s a travesty that one of the greatest all round players Barry Bonds & one of the greatest right handed pitchers Roger Clemens haven’t been indicted as 1st rd ballots. Sosa was linked with Mark McGuire who was caught on steroids and he is one of the greatest HR hitters. And Sheffield is another player who should have been in the HOF a long time ago! Players like Piazza,Bagwell & Ivan Rodriguez. The HOF is hypocritical! Media votes for players they like not who deserve to be in based on performance! If Thome is in why isn’t Sosa. How did Joe Mauer & Harold Bsines get in?
They were selling 1952 on the streets of NY for 2 cents each in 1953-54. My friends dad bought him 3 Mantles. He still has them to this day. Lives in Tampa, locked in a bank valt. Said they were 8, 9 and 10.
I know exactly how you feel, I've had ESPN+ for a few months because of the Columbus Bluejackets. They had done that every time I want to see the BlueJackets play and it p's me off because of the stupid blackouts
Put Bonds, McGwire and Clemens in. Also Sosa. They wanted them using the steroids until Congress did subpoenas. You can't blame the juicers for juicing, I was initially against putting the juicers in. As soon as Selig was put in, I changed my mind as well. It was his job to police baseball. He did not do it. It wasn't the players job to police themselves.
I guess breaking the legal law of possessing illegal steroids is ok? All these guys got legal Dr prescriptions for HGH and Steroids? Lol yes it’s the hall of fame and yes it’s hypocritical they all are!! Every Hall of Fame is!
At it's peak the NFL Black-outs started at 90 miles from the stadium . Later they were reduced to 75 before eventually being eliminated. We're 200+ from Atlanta (on a straight line) and still can't watch the Braves and there's never MLB on here except a few National games. Unless the Braves or Reds (our other "local" team) are playing.
Not a fan. Guy stole 9 years of salary for a mentally deficient owner. Granted it was Moreno's fault but still that's like picking on a retarded kid in 1st grade.
Derek Jeter is rich, gets tons of tail and he's in the Hall of fame with 5 world series rings. Do you think he gives a rat's tiny ass what a third rate youtuber thinks of his career? Not in the slightest.
I grew up in Az, BK was THE most compelling part of an incredible Dbacks era aside from Gonzo’s HR run and the RJ/Schilling combo. He was such an easy guy to root for…crazy how all my favorite athletes are the type to flip off the fans (Jake Plummer, Charles Barkley), I appreciate you making this video
I 100% think MLB purposely fed Judge juiced balls down the stretch to ensure they could get the publicity; I also 100% think Judge and the Yankees knew absolutely nothing about it.
Dude, 2/3 of the population of AZ lives in the Phoenix metro area. I had season tickets to the D-Backs a few years ago, and attendance sucked. There were often more Dodgers fans than D-Backs fans. Same with the Padres. Now, I retired to Phoenix metro from Philly, and get to see all but the three home D-Backs games. One year I went to those games in person. Listening to baseball on the radio is something you should consider. It's a lost art, but a valuable skill.
wow. bally sucks so bad. every time I see their commercial I am going to remind anyone nearby how much I discourage them to use ballys services. absolutely would not reccomend, especially the more ads they force into my vids
If steroid’s gives a player a extra 5 HRs a year which it probably gives them more than Hank Aaron would have over 800 HRs if he used them. The records shouldn’t count from the users it’s artificial . Sammy Sosa was as skinny as a toothpick before he started using them
Well, with blackouts, you can't see as much of the wonderful talented umpires. BTW you're 100% right. MLB is out of touch with modern society. More fans are more fans.
