What's with the "noob"? It's an attitude, a mindset of never settling for current status as a guitar player. Because learning is like a "race without a finish line", it's about maintaining that desire to improve one's skill-sets even more and sharing that passion with others, especially to those looking-up and just starting-out.
If I have one burning purpose for this site, it would be for the latter.
The Journey of Us A very tiny percentage of the human gene pool would be born into this world with chromosomes of a musical prodigy. And I have proven, over time, that I inherited not a single drop of genius in my DNA, no, not even half. Nada. Zilch. So, just like the gazillion other mortals, I had my share of toil, hundreds of hand-numbing practice hours despite the blistered finger-tips, the threat of carpal tunnel and royally pissed-off neighbors and family members.
My pedal still works, it’s just the screen that is messed up. Is there any solution for this problem or am I just completely screwed? I’ve only had it for a year and it’s been one of my most cherished items. I’m really bummed out right now. 😔
So sorry you had that experience. From what I know, some went thru official NUX service channels. I think they directly emailed the HQ in China and they were lucky enough to be sent LCD replacements. If you're into DIY, you can Google "3.97 inch 480 * 800 TFT LCD 40 pins RGB24 digit instrument display" and see if you get a replacement online. You can also check with your seller if they can replace your unit, or something. Apologies, I wish I could be more help on this regard. All the best.
@@theguitarnoobph Thank you so so so much. I’m pretty sure this is the best advice that I’m going to find, so I can’t thank you enough. I’m wondering if I found the replacement parts, my local guitar shop might be able to get it fixed for me. They’re really handy with repairing all types of equipment, so I think I’ll give them a holler pretty soon and see if they can help me at all. Again, thank you so much for the top notch advice. It means a lot. You earned my subscription, for what it’s worth. Cheers, friend. 🙏
@@theguitarnoobph Looks like the closest thing I could find online to what you described has the following specifications: 3.97 Inch Touch Screen TFT LCD Display 800x480 IPS STM32 NT35510 16BIT RGB 65K I have a local repairman who repairs effects pedals. Do you think that particular screen would work for my MG-30?
@@YogsenForfoth I saw those specs recommended in an MG30 community, sometime back. It's still best to consult with your local repairman. You can show him the problem and the specs of the replacement screen. He might also want to open your unit to verify. All the best.
@@theguitarnoobph yeah, long time. when i got my acoustic bass guitar i pretty much stopped playing electric bass. btw, when i started playing bass in the 70s labella tapewound strings were only 8 dollars a set.
I put tapewounds on my acoustic bass about 6 years ago. Way better than phossy bronze imo. Didn't sound to bad considering you recorded on your phone. 👍 🍺 4:07
Sure, and if I understood you correctly, you can save the custom patches currently on your MG30 to your computer as a means of back-up (which is a very good practice). You can backup individually or the entire patch set. That will allow you to restore the previous versions anytime should you wish to. Hope that helps.
That helps thank you for your time. I'm trying to update my firmware and want to save all my presets but the 'Ghost' function button in Quicktone editor settings is not there anymore for some reason. I'm waiting for NUX to reply but so far, no answer.
Hi! Thank you for the question. The blank patches, essentially, allow you to experiment with the numerous available effects, amps, IRs and eventually customize your own. As well as efficiently organize third-party patches you can upload to your MG30. Hope this helps. :)
Well I made it for free... just go to a photo frame shop. Ask them for 4x3 inch acrylic sheet.. usually they won't take money.. but just offer them something as a good gesture.. bring that piece home and put some thin double side tape .. and you are sorted.. I did with my mg 30 yesterday.. and I am super happy and sorted.
Steps on how to export to your PC at: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MTckDTrFX2A.html. You should do this to backup your current setup, before you replace them with blank patches. All the best.
@@theguitarnoobph I saw a vid that switches preset from 1A to 1B, i don't know how he managed to delete the in between presets like 2A 3A etc. Already asked the guy, but no reply though.
@@theguitarnoobph sorry my bad, I got confused. The numbers of presets in the A bank is beside each other. Still looking for a way to delete other preset/bank to clean the device. Thanks for answering my question. 🙏
Yo I love that you're trying to be better and showing it We've all been there but don't have those marbles if you know what I mean And you know to start it simple Don't rush for 5 string sweep picking before 3 a n doing trem pulls solo before doing them after legato runs Or even wah pedal for that matter Start simple Age into things Shred scales and expand out I've been playing for almost 14 years and I'm not even close to a guitar god It's all about knowing your strengths and definitely your weaknesses
@@theguitarnoobph Yup! I should have been more careful with the display XD I still did not manage to find a spare lcd or the exact type so Im just using it while connected to a pc to change and edit patches :)
Great info. Personally, I'd prefer if you were to narrate what you are doing instead of all the on-screen text. It makes it much more engaging to listen and watch instead of trying to follow your mouse and read the text at the same time. Again, thank you very much for doing this video it's very helpful.
Neck dive is what happens when the neck is much heavier than the body. It's very annoying because you have to hold it up everytime you play. It a full-time job for the left hand, you see. But not when the weight is evenly distributed. Hope this helps.
Hi! Yeah, good question. The active pickups require that the 9V battery be removed after every use. Else the battery will drain very quickly. So I think I broke the wire of the 9V battery connector after numerous times of removing the battery. Other than that, I see no other issue. I love my unit.
Ok naman sya sakin. Hanapin mo si @mangarvinguitartech sa FB. Isa sya sa nag ssetup ng Jolly Music guitars. Magalin yun. Dalhin mo na din sa JM shop sa Cubao for check-up/repairs. Good luck!
Ganda ng tunog men! Kung me extra 2k ka, try mo yung pre-amp na JB-2A. Mas kontrolado mo tone. If possible, visit ka sa Cubao outlet nila para ma try mo. Excited for you. Good luck!
If it's a pick-up issue baka kelangan dalhin kay Jolly Music for check-up. Me outlet sila sa Cubao. UPDATE 1. The 4-knob configuration is as follows: Volume/Pickup-selector/Bass/Treble
INFO UPDATES: 1. The 4-knob configuration is as follows: Volume/Pickup-selector/Bass/Treble 2. The 9V battery is easily removable because, whew, it drains an Energizer battery so quickly. Consider investing on a rechargeable\charger. 3. Should you decide to replace the pickguard (which I did, and I love it!), you may find that the screw holes are not the same. @MangArvinGuitartech swapped my pickguards with no issues. GOOD LUCK!
Nice review sir tagal ko na iniintay na may mag review neto eh haha kaw palang ang merong review. Btw. How much po yung bass and the shipping fee? And bakit po black pinili nyo kesa sa metalic gold? Di kase ako makapili ng kulay hahahaha salamat sir!
Sa Lazada ko lang nabili. Check the link na lang in the description just case magbago price nya. Di ko type yung gold men. Baka purple pa, pwedeng pwede. Hehehe.
