Make sure you do your research. There is psychological AND spiritual shadow work. Some people combine them. Others use the meanings interchangeably when they are not related. God says to use wisdom and in all things seek understanding. Make sure you arent falsely accusing someone
Shaddow work is basically just journaling and finding what you need to work on about yourself to heal yourself. I used to believe and actively participated in the church for 10+ years. At first everything was great but when I was diagnosed with MDD I was told it was my fault and I was going to hell because I wasn't perfect and was clearly sinning to be mentally ill. I was told that God was love and to love everyone, but two people of the same gender were not allowed to fall in love. I never felt god in my time in the church. Id pray every day attend church multiple times a week and enjoy it. But after I was told that I was no longer allowed to attend after I was SA'd that's where I drew the line. Not to long after a friend of mine asked if I wanted to go to a full moon ritual with her... I've never felt more alive. Years of feeling terrible about life told I'd burn forever over little things I will never go back. I've done shadow work and with the help of my therapist my life has definitely improved.
