The only downside being Coral, who, just like on the other video, tried to dominate things with her interjections and monologues - although thankfully Kate did manage to handle it and get to finish what she was saying! :)
It's so unfortunate that Coral dominated proceedings at this event. Kate and Kylie barely get a word in edgewise and I was - along with many others - really looking forward to hearing what they had to say. What they managed to say was very interesting. Some of this video was painful to watch, including the looks on the poor actors' faces, and Coral seems genuinely unable to read a room. I think she would benefit from watching this video back and seeing her behaviour objectively.
I wish I was able to say more to offer comfort but I can't imagine the pain (my pup is 10 and I can't even imagine the future). I hope you are in an ok place and you are able to look back and cherish your moments.
Thanks Matt for 'Talking Prisoner' and thanks Ashton for the film. Lovely to hear Kate Hood talk so fondly of her time on the show and how indepth her character was.
IThis was such a treat! Great to see Brumby! I wasnt born when the show began airing but caught it the 2nd time round. I got a Q'n answered by Amanda on the DVD release Q&A spot which I was gleed about. I still dip in and out of watching the show
I never seem to see Elspeth at any of these reunions and wonder why. Is she too frail these days to travel or does she not want to take part? I hope she realises how integral she was to the entire series and that she is missed at these events. 😊
I understand that she's not too well these days, unfortunately. It's a shame she didn't attend in years past, but I suppose she must have had her reasons. :) Would have been good to hear from someone with the unique perspective of being in the programme from start to finish - as well as being interesting to hear more about her as an actor.
Coral, to be fair, you are a star!! You went from Kate Peterson to Reb, you are a total legend and a massive inspiration to this amazing show and your continuing support is priceless. Kate (Kath) you are one of my favourite characters despite your controversial character.... Superb acting - I always felt sorry for you because you were blamed for everything at the beginning and it was so undeserved but you played that character amazingly. Sarah West, you were there briefly but your so totally iconic to the series, loved your performance. Brumby.... WOW!! You are stunning!! 😊 What a brilliant interview Matt, I love it. X
Lovely to see all these great actresses - yet would have loved Rosanne Hull-Brown to have been there as well, talking together with Kate Hood on how they acted together.
The guy with the beard....did he play the shrink in the very early days called Peter Clements who taught Karen Travers at Uni before working at the prison?
Great to hear from the actresses on the show. I always thought Kate Hood did an excellent job portraying Kath Maxwell as her character developed over the series. Thank you, Kate.
I knew this was going happen. Coral Drouyn hogging up and butting in the middle of conversations with other actors and not letting anyone else get a word in edgewise. Typical of Matt Batten run reunions. All other prisoner reunions are great. But his stink.
I think Matt did a great job of co-ordinating this event and has built up good relationships with many of the cast over the last few years. I think he runs the 1-1 interviews very well. I do tend to agree, however, from the clips I've seen from this get together than Coral does tend to jump in a lot. I know she had a lot of history with the programme as well, yet in these clips I would have loved to hear much more from the actresses themselves. That would have been my preference.
@@2008giles that’s why I said she shouldn’t been invited. Except for Ben Fulbright this was the first time these actors been to a reunion. We’re overexposed or Coral as it is. Matt needs to bring on fresh faces or bring on old school stars lik Meg, Davo, Vera, Margo, or Chrissy Latham.
@@lamontbradford4630indeed. It's fine when it's one of her soap box diatribes, but this is a shared platform. Stop interrupting others. I can already anticipate her bombastic reply to our politely expressed objections appearing in a Talking Prisoner video very soon.
@teralmiles. I agree. I'm gay myself and sometimes people get too hung up on words. You've gotta look at context and intent as well. It was simply funny. A joke is a joke. If we can't laugh at ourselves, how can we laugh at anyone or anything else?
I was there, loved the casts attendance but that was about it. It was rush, rush, rush, no personal chats with the cast, a very quick photo of yourself with the cast member sat down behind the table IF you were lucky, one cast member couldn't be arsed doing it for me because she was to tired and the queue was too big and I had travelled FAR. Even heard members of the cast complaining about how tiring it was and they wanted to go home, (not Victoria Nicholls or Patsy King, they were loving it all the way) This is all from personal experience, saw and heard it with my own eyes and ears so nobody can tell me otherwise.
