At least this performance is almost - almost - at the right speed (except for the middle “drifting sands” section which really drags) but, oh, it’s a shambles. Davison’s vocals are laboured and all over the place and, as has become the norm in recent years, there’s absolutely no power - even allowing for the limitations of a phone video. This once great, almost untouchable band sounds old, tired and, sadly, no longer relevant as a live proposition. Very sad.
Plant, top 5 vocalist Page, 5 top guitarists Bonham, top 5 drummer JPJ, top 5 all-round musician. No Band has ever put that much talent on stage. Nice to see JPJ get the respect he has earned.
John really held his own not being in the lights like the other three. He was the silent contributor to alot of good material alot never knew about. This vid shows just a small talent this great musian has, very cool. Was lucky to see Zeppelin at a young age in Oakland....
We must amend the Webster Dictionary in its definition of, 'Brilliance'. brilliance- noun bril·liance ˈbril-yən(t)s : the quality or state of being brilliant : John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin
Of the Led Zeplin members John Paul Jones was the most talented of them, quitely doing all the other instrumental work, while Jimmy, Robert and John Bonham where in the public eye
Sorry but I lose respect when someone uses a looper. P.S. saw Led Zeppelin live back in the day. It will be a sad day if Tommy Emmanuel weakens and goes there but I doubt it.
A shame that dealing with the distraction of people dancing in the aisles, thereby potentially interfering with a timely exit, to escape the theatre, seemed to reduce the experience of The Pretenders' doing a great show. Still, Chrissy Hynde still has their chops, decades after releasing one of the top albums of the 80s.
It was an odd distraction, but I was happy to hear her discuss how she gets so emotionally invested in the song that the audience/staff behavior was really off-putting.
@@BobJGoPro See, I found that a validation, about how Chrissy Hynde is so committed to her performance. No surprise, that, from someone who seems as fierce about her music as about her shows. Really hope that she comes back to town.
