Nah nah nah even if max wins I still don’t think he should get a title shot at light weight. I don’t know why they even made that BMF fight, but tbh, I think they should go for the winner of arman vs oliveira. I think that would probably be more “fair”, and plus, I think the only one who stands a chance to beat Islam is Charles anyways, but we’ll just have to see how 300 plays out…
This is a bad take, I like merab too, but he needs another fight, I would like to see merab vs umar or sandhagen to set up a huge Q3 or Q4 for the bantamweight division, merab had his shot against aljo and said no and has beaten 1-4 Yan and 0-2 Cejudo. Sandhagen has better wins, I’m with you we need the division to keep moving but we have a flyweight division that needs PPV attention feather division that needs more juice, we can’t turn bantamweight into lightweight if it isn’t already. I want O’Malley Ilia in Spain and then O’Malley whoever in December or Q1 2025. If UFC doesn’t start buying out those Bellator contracts PFL can’t handle then we’ll have a mass exodus of our favorite fighters reaching their late 30’s and hitting 40 soon without a title shot. Merab loses to Garbrandt, he loses to a lot of Bantamweight right now. Figgy, Aljo, Sandhagen, Bautista, Phillips, Mcgee, Basharat and Timur
Sean already said "If Ilia gets his first Defense win, I Go out and KO Merab, They'll Give us the fight" and he's not wrong, outside of Sandman in Bantamweight, Seans Clearly above the Competition and would have no real contenders left. But as far as Ilia, Movsar is it. He's in a Division with "The Old Guard" so he doesnt have much competition outside of Murking Legends. Do i think Umar is gonna be a problem? yea, But he needs to crack top 5 first.
BSD's defeat was in Welterweights (in dubious conditions), he is still undefeated in Lightweight ! Can't wait for that fight I love Poirier, true test.
I watched it and the fights weren’t worth the money besides Johnny and nenkov there’s not any fighters worth the ppv model. And all of them being 3 rounds for a “title” really brought down the appeal for me
Thought it was a good very good card I enjoyed it and vadim nemkov is a beast I thought eblen won a clear 2 rounds to one He won the first round and 3rd easy second round he lost If it was a 5 round fight I think eblen would of got the finish Aj mckee looked good romero looked good
I'll be curious to see how often the rosters will actually fight each other after this event as well, seems like an event that can only be done 1-2 times per year
UFC isn't interested in the best fighting for a title. It's taking a turn and becoming more like the WWE every day. Their ranking system is pretty much a joke as well. It took a VERY ACTIVE fighter in VOLK who had beaten HOW MANY contenders ???? But left Jon Jones who haven't fought in over 2 years at that point as the #1 and listed Makachev as tge P4P ALSO instead of a REAL p4p best in......VOLK. Dana is a ring master more than anything else.
I think u have merit in what u say with the ring leader stuff that’s true but do u think Belal can beat shavkat? The first fight between belal and Leon was lack luster and if ur a true mma/ufc fan which from ur analysis I believe u are, that fight? belal was losing up until the poke. If you wanna see belal fight for the title I get it. But it’s not the best fighting the best cus Belal is not the best welterweight I hope u know that but I’m just sitting on the couch so…..
