Great review! Better than a lot of other RIU Maldives videos. You're actually critical about things, and giving a lot of information. I'm going there for 7 days in December. I'm a bit in doubt if it isn't too short, but every day more is another 500 euro's............. I can imagine that after 7 days you've done everything you can do there 3 times over. I was at RIU Palace Sal, Cape Verde last year for 10 days, i remember that the last few days were just like routine. Maybe 7 days is just ok.
Hi, and thanks a lot for taking us along virtually, Sir. My girlfriend and I were there in march 24 for 8 nights, on the Atoll side in a beach villa. Interesting to see how it looked 4 years ago. It's a lot more covered in palm trees and bushes now. And the smell? I know what you mean, and it's definitely "there", but it's not a deal breaker. The weather was perfect, the water is amazing, and the cuisine was excellent in the Dhoni restaurant. We did not get in the steakhouse or the italian "Sofia" though. And also we didn't go to the pool bar, because it's always crowded and noisy. The beach is better anyway 😎 We did the dolphin quest, the snorkeling excursion, and also the fotoshooting with SunClick. The evening events are fun as well, and the new band was great. Overall it was an absolutely amazing vacation. The only real downside: we had to get up at 3 am on our last day, to check out at 4 am and directly leave the island. And on our 1st day we arrived at 7:30 pm, so we're loosing more than 1 complete day due to stupid transfers. Cheers and greetings from Bavaria, Germany.
Just returned from here ... far prettier than this video. Plenty more palms all over this island which are very much needed too. Would certainly recommend the windy side of the island. Far too hot on the other side. Most people ventured across to our side ... we stayed at the Palace in a beach apartment ... fantastic staff and facilities ❤

Thanks for sharing this video. 2 days ago we were still in Riu Palace Maldivas and enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in one of the apartments on the water. Definitely recommended for people who want to enjoy sun, sea, good food, good service and privacy.
Yeah in this video you can really see the waves going in the water... In other videos you don't see that. I'm bringing all my snorkling gear including my scuba diving fins. I think with fins it will be easy to battle any current. Way safer in any case than without.
Some questions seen as you have been there 1 which is better if your going solo Palace or attoll 2 can you snorkel pretty much anywhere 3 do they do non alcoholic cocktails 4 do they do souvenir beach towels and baseball caps?
Yeah i believe a lot of Asian people (honestly) don't know how to swim. They don't get that taught. Maybe they think, the water looks so peaceful and the bottom is visible, that they do an attempt. Then get surprised by drifting off.
Hello, great review 👍 one question, you mention to book a even number for the water villa , is that so you have a lot of sun not the terrace or not so much? We are going to the palace and we really really want to have the sun on the terrace for being sun-lovers. And it would be a pity if we have a villa with a lot of shade. We prefer the sun, the whole day if possible.

Thanks for providing a nice video we stayed there in January/ February I didn't notice any noise humming from the generator and didn't witness any smells perhaps we were lucky but we spoke to a lot people probably like your self and didn't hear anyone complain of these issues the sea is a bit more lively this is due to this part of the island being more open the other side is calm which is amazing as you've seen that probably due to the buildings shielding the wind ? the place is new and yes it does need to perhaps improve on a few things as you stated the steak house needs to improve and the Italian needs this as well to be honest for me the down side was the entertainment which I honestly found poor of a night but it's new and fingers crossed it will improve over the next coming months the water being shallow is normal for these islands even some Caribbean islands are like this I feel a few teething problems should hopefully be ironed out and this will be amazing place to holiday I found my holiday here and the people we met including staff were great

I have stayed in the riu atol in January I've got to be honest I did not notice any fumes being given off by the generator what so ever what you find is the sea 1 side is more open which makes it a bit more of a chance to get more waives the other side is very calm there is a reef which to be honest is 90% dead this is due to the building work taken place to build the resort there are untold fish there and your see black tip sharks which are about 3 ft long they are plankton eaters and do not hassle any 1 there very skittish there is an amazing snorkel trip which they take you out 20 minutes boat ride and take you to another reef it is amazing full of corals fish and you may be lucky to see the turtles this is about 39 dollars I have dived and snorkel round the world and this site was amazing I feel that the smell of drains etc I didn't witness that to be honest there is no noise leaving the generator I'm.a bit miffed by that statement June is a chance month as unfortunately this is the highest rain time please check this out while we was there people we spoke to untold people and I'm being honest I didn't hear 1 person complain of the noise or smell if your into seeing natural life in the sea try the dolphins trip it's amazing
