Thoughts on woolich QS’s? I have a gen 3 zx10 on track it seems to hang up in certain corners
@RaceCenterAU
@RaceCenterAU 15 дней назад
We haven't had a lot of experience with the Woolich QS on that particular model so we can't properly advise you. BUT if it is only in particular corners first check that your gear lever is setup well, because if it is in an awaked position, then when exiting corners, it will be hard to do a proper shift. I that is all ok then I would be looking into the settings.

New guy question because I have the "stalling when going back on throttle after a stoplight/sign" problem: what do those by-pass screws do? I've just turned them in both clockwise and counter-clockwise direction to increase the idle speed and nothing seemed to change. From your video, it seems that I need to open the airbox and adjust the idle screw on the throttle bodies? (which is not in the Ducati service manual instructions, just the by-pass screws). TIA!
@RaceCenterAU
@RaceCenterAU 13 дней назад
The by-pass screws change the air/fuel ratio at idle and very low throttle. You really shouldn't be adjusting them without some AFR sensors or the Ducati Diag tool or an equivalent. No what we did is not in the ducati service manual and that's why we did the video :)

I was never able to solve this problem in two different official Ducati workshops and other experts. The problem I had was with the motorcycle turning off without warning when idling, usually at a traffic light. There were valves adjusted 4 times, new yuasa battery, gasoline filter, dna air filters, new stator anyway... lots of love and lots of money... thanks for sharing your experience, it all makes sense!

Hi! How does one access that adjuster needle when it is jammed in?
@RaceCenterAU
@RaceCenterAU 2 месяца назад
That depends on the type of fork / shock. If you're unsure best to take it to a suspension specialist OR if you want to have a go get the workshop manual for the fork/shock but you will need special tools and some suspension overhaul knowledge. We can't really run you through that here sorry.

Placing the injector above the butterfly valve also good for keeping the throttle body and the plate clean. Placing the injector below the plate can cause carbon buildup on and around the plate (similar to small petrol turbo direct injected car engines where the cam valves needs to be cleaned periodically which isn't an issue for non direct injected ones. tfsi vs t-jet for example.)

999s was my best bike. It was a dream to ride. She had full termignoni system and the performance cam pack, it was a missile. The Ohlins shocks and the brembo radial brakes, oh boy such a great control... I switched from a 2005 R1 and the Duc was like a bike from the future back then. I still miss my good old trile nine s.

Nice informative and honest video. The crazy lean part throttle AFR on the dyno graphs tell the story. Impressive you can access and tune the ECU, that is way cool! In the US with a '23 701 Enduro, Rottweiler mapped PC6 with O2 eliminator, a Yosh can and trimmed air snorkel. Do you guys ship to the US? If so I would have gone with you, as I would prefer have the ECU tuned directly and not to have the extra "hardware" that in the form of the PC6. Anyway, these bikes benefit a ton from tuning. Wheelies are much easier to initiate with proper part throttle fueling. So ya, it is no longer "street legal" but I suspect the exhaust and tune are the least of my potential problems here in the US, as they don't inspect or emissions test bikes here, and cops really dislike wheelies 😂

I used to work in Ducati dealership back in the day and found exactly the same thing. We cured it using the same method but then slowed the tick over on the bypass screws, reset the throttle potentiometer and reset the CO. Once we knew it was a fix we knew where to drill a 10 mm hole in the top of the airbox on other bikes so we could adjust the throttle stop screw without taking all of the airbox to bits. Finally sealing it with a sealing grommet. 749S's were particularly prone to this.
@markbarton6845
@markbarton6845 2 месяца назад
That really interesting to know. Did you ever see this is on any of ST4S models? I’m having the same stalling issues at lights and bouncing at very low speed which I believe is fuelling.
@stevenrowley9481
@stevenrowley9481 2 месяца назад
@markbarton6845 No, this was never an issue with any of the other models. Sounds a bit like a fuelling issue, low pump pressure perhaps due to lower voltage at tickover causing the pump/ filter to give a lower pressure. Have you tried changing the fuel filter? They have been known to split at at join an the metal ones.
@stevenrowley9481
@stevenrowley9481 2 месяца назад
Just for clarification. The pooling problem only happens on Ducati's that have shower head injectors I.e. where the injectors were above the throttle valves. Models like the ST4s had the injectors below the throttle valves, 2 injectors per cylinder on the ST4s if I remember correctly.

@@stevenrowley9481 ok thanks that sound like a great suggestion I get Ducati to have a look at it. One thing I would like some knowledge on if you have time is an on going clutch issue. I keep getting loss of pressure on the clutch. I’ve had the clutch and slave replace but it keeps happening. Any ideas would be welcome. To give you an idea…It seem ok in town but once I’ve done some country road and go back to using it their suddenly no pressure. I see no fluid leaking which is very strange.

Unburnt fuel and cat converter - 4:57 Very confused by that statement. I always thought that unburnt fuel is what cause cat to fail due to overheating. Which is why they come with narrow band O2 sensor to maintain stochiometric AFR to protect the cat.
@RaceCenterAU
@RaceCenterAU 3 месяца назад
Too much unburnt fuel will cause the cat to fail. Those OEM narrow band O2 sensors only work at low rpm and lower throttle positions anyway. Not all throttle positions and rpm. A normal amount of unburnt fuel will not cause the cat to fail. Sure eventually it may, but nothing last forever.

I had mine tuned in the Netherlands by Biggelaar and it was a night and day difference. Highly, highly recommended even if your bike is mostly stock. The factory tunes on these 2v engines were very messy. I only got an HP more and a couple of NM but that wasn't the point. The fuelling, engine feel and efficiency have massively improved.
@RaceCenterAU

love that comment and that you get it about not worrying about the peak figures. The figures do not do the tune justice! And great to hear you had a great experience with yours.

You have said before that the Triumph maps are good. I have decatted my 2018 765RS put on a black widow slip on and K&N filter. I know all bikes run lean. Will my ecu adjust to the changes I've made? Paying for a dyno tune in the UK £350 cheapest, but all I want is a new map. are you doing postal ECU maps for the 765RS? also with the remote tuning. can I pass the device on after I've used it? say to a member of the Facebook group.

Really informative video, thank you. I purchased the previous model, the R rather than the RS, because I like the colours more (silver ice, silver rims & engine covers, etc), and thought Euro 4 might add some more flexibly in future if I ever want to get the bike tuned. I ride my Thruxton in Rain Mode for exactly the reasons you said ... same power but smoother throttle response. Great to see that you are in Melbourne - now I know where to get my Thruxton R looked after. I’ll call to book it in for a service & hope you can help with clutch adjustment & the suspension setup ... there are so many parameters on the forks, where to start?

Great info and I was curious if that's a Dynojet dyno you're using because a stock 2019-2020 RSV4 1100 makes an average of 190hp on US Dynojets and even more in the UK. You did get the biggest gains over what I've seen.
@RaceCenterAU
@RaceCenterAU 5 месяцев назад
thanks :) No we have a Dyno Dynamics dyno, not a dynojet. Those are rear wheel HP figures. Our dyno does show lower figures than a dyno jet dyno but the figures are very repeatable and provides a really good measure as to if we are making more power or not. So we focus more on the gains rather than the exact figure because our dyno does read lower than a dyno jet but it is an awesome dyno with a really good weather station too. Sometimes customers are disappointed by the figures because they may expect a higher number, but that disappointment goes away pretty quickly when they ride it :)
