Last time I checked, Chicago has lost over 100,000 residents just since 2020. The property taxes here in Chicago are already insane. This will only drive more taxpayers out and we will still have budget deficits because of the incompetent and corrupt Democrats running this city. If we haven’t entered a death spiral yet, it will only be a matter of time. I have had family in Chicago for over 100 years. Most of them and my friends no longer live here having moved to the suburbs or increasingly to other states. We now have homeowners on the south side of Chicago already paying close to if not over $10,000 a year on property taxes. This isn’t sustainable. I am here for now due to family, but hopefully I can get out of this dump before it’s too late.
