An absolute killer. Can't recall where I first heard this - a Pebbles or Highs in the Mid-Sixties comp, most likely - but I've loved this one for decades. Unlike me, it never gets old.
Just came across this song ! I looked it up: released in December 1967! I wasn't born until July 16th, 1996! Being a lead vocalist in my third band, this song is on my radar! We do classic rock, alternative, garage, and this is most definitely garage! Joey in Cleveland
It has a bit of “The Shadows Of Knight” and of Tex Mex Rock, like ? Mark & The Mysterians which makes it a great 😌 🎵 song. This is Garage Rock 🪨 at its best.
Jim Sohns RIP SOK were formed in Mount Prospect, IL, a suburb of Chicago. They were the house band at a venue called The Cellar in Arlington Heights, IL. Other Chicago/Chicagoland bands performed there with them like Cryan" Shames, New Colony Six, Ides Of March, The Buckinghams. All of those bands hits were bolstered by airplay on Chicago's WLS radio, the top dog radio station of the day I have been fortunate to have seen them all. SOK were, still are one of my favorite garage punk bands. This 45 you posted is a two-sider. 1970 SOK were so much more than their hit cover of "Gloria", the song that put them on the map. I'm glad you chose this record to post to highlight SOK Thanks, pinch king
