If you want to learn about drinks, this is the place for you. Art of Drink is all about cocktails, soda, wine, beer, distilling and even water. If it's liquid and you can drink it, I'll eventually get around to making it.
About Darcy O'Neil I've been writing about drinks since 2004 and started Art of Drink in 2005 then wrote the book Fix the Pumps: The History of the American Soda Fountain in 2009 (over 10,000 copies sold!). I originally studied chemistry and worked in research labs for 15 years, and recently we purchased 12 acres of farmland to start a vineyard and maybe a winery. The future looks interesting.

Your channel is pure gold, wow! This is the second video I'm watching after I found you. You're making exactly the content I've always been looking for! I've been experimenting with making my own sodas at home for a while now, but I've always been just guessing and playing around with everything. I have professional ingredients to make sodas but I've just been buying the stuff I'm reading on soda labels lol so I really have no idea what I'm doing. Controlling the acidity was always something I've been curious about. You just inspired me to maybe do this professionally. Love the videos! ❤
This is amazing. How did it take me so long to discover your channe....I used to look for a recipe like this for years, but every single one I found was some basic version with regular ingredients you have at home. I almost thought it's not possible to make at home. I love the fact that you're using the actual professional ingredients for this energy drink, I'm definitely going to try this, hopefully I can find a good supplier for these ingredients here in Germany. Thanks for the recipe! I just subscribed and now I'll check out your other videos
I miss Pure Spring Ginger Ale that was bottled here in Ottawa. Sadly disappeared about 30 years ago. It was the best ginger ale IMO and many others. It was called “dry” ginger ale but no idea what that really meant. Would be lovely to have that available again.
All your videos are so good, Darcy. I’ve watched most of them all the way through and constantly find myself coming back for reference.🎉 And those formula sheets are invaluable!!! 🎉Thank you so much!
I found that one gram sodium citrate, and 1. 3 G citric acid only gets the solution down to a pH of 5. I had to add at least two more grams to get it down so it was between 4 and 5... I wasn't sure what to do, you don't mention how to correct if the solution isn't acidic enough. I tried to add the same ratio of sodium citrate and citric acid call my butt still not sure if that was the right thing to do
It definitely smells like the green Japanese horseradish that you get with your sushi, promise you that. Felt great when I had it. But always use caution as much as you can.
sorry Darcy but how to make it without fresh cherry? what compounds, flavouring agents or something can be used? where and how to get this info? Like you did with coconut flavour last video? )
What would I do if I wanted to drink the "gin" neat? 10* as flavorful seems like it would be too strong to drink neat, and I like to drink my gin neat like a psychopath,
So just made it and would like to give some feedback from an expert (laugh) (from my wife; she used to drink it in here youth in London. We in germany dont know it). She thinks it is pretty accurate, just a little to 'floral'. So maybe a drop of beta ionene to much :) . I like i a lot. Thanks for this !
Love the series! Really appreciate the information being shared with public. Thank you so much. Can you please show us the way we can make the cocktail bombs ( the one recently featured in dragon's den) at home..using different flavour syrup
In the follow-up video, I'd like to hear more about electrolyte mixes for health. How to make your own LMNT or gorilla mind electrolytes would be really cool.
