Lots of SeaDoo jet ski projects done so far. Next up will be some ambitious repairs and upgrades to a Nissan 350z, more dirt bikes, and whatever fun projects come up.

I LOVE THE ORANGE!!!!! And y'all are hilarious 😂. I am happy I stumbled on to this video. I'm trying to fix my 96 GTS. And I found very few videos for that ski. Recently watched one video that this kid made. I Was so BORED, to the point of me falling asleep while on the 💩-er. Fell forward, woke up just in the nick of time to stop my fall. Scared the 💩 out of my Catahoula cur dog sleeping at my feet. To point, he pissed all over the damn floor. /facepalm. Soooooo. Yeah. This video was awesome
Some of the 3 step seats come in 2 pieces so, yes, you can cut and staple each separately. As long as the seat step isn't too angular I think you could stretch the fabric to conform with the profile. If not, you can order custom vinyl that is sew to fit perfectly. Check my videos for an example of how this worked out on a large SeaDoo using HydroTurf's custom-fitted seat covers.
If the old vinly isn't too torn up, you may be able to get away with just re-covering it. More than a few times I have removed the seat cover to find another old one beneath it.
Awesome and inspiring. I have two 1999 Sea Doo GTXs - live in Arizona and the sun has taken it's toll on existing maroon. I love recovering my household kitchen chairs and bar stools, etc., so off I am to try to find some TAN colored marine vinyl fabric - will go nicely with maroon body parts but be less hot and weather better. Cheers.
Hi Steve, My tip of the day for removing the old sticker adhesive. Way better than Goof Off. For many, many, many years I have used Mineral spirits. Loosens up the glue after letting it soak for about 15 minutes. The glue rolls off and does not harm painted surfaces. also, freshens up the gel coat. Mineral spirits are cheap by the gallon at the big box stores. You'll thank me later...
hey steve! love your videos on jetski restorations! I hope all is well and you and your family are doing great. Hope to maybe see you back on here soon!
This is why you should use welding cable and adhesive lined heat shrinks on connections like we use in water well. The connections will last forever and never let moisture in the wire. And welding cable is rated for hot, cold, wet, abrasion and transfers power better many fine strands ofc of course.
From what you remember Would you say it’s easier to pull entire engine or swap top end while leaving in ski? Scenario Have complete runnning replacement Current motor 1 cylinder no compression/ other down to 100 It was run on straight gas (OOPS) 😢
