I wonder, if you placed a thick blanket over it on rainy nights, if it would drown out the noise.... 🤔... of course it would have to be firmly secured with strong clamps, to not fly with the wind....
The biggest thing the unhoused don't seem to sympathize with is not only the home value but the people in those homes are paying high taxes to a government that claims to be trying to solve the situation. Maybe if the state stopped social services and taxes were decreased then it's a little more equitable
Please update this property love the homes. How has it done in 5 years since this video. Best configuration of small homes. The quality of materials the redesign is fantastic. And yes we live in a mobile home 30 years.
I'm sorry, but the way this is presented, is giving me weird vibes of being a cult. .. And a quick google search about homestead heritage brings up some concerning things, to say the least.
we all want to live in nature, away from people, sustainably...the difference is this guy CAN AFFORD TO. We can't even afford a 40 year old pickup truck, let alone have any dream of owning some land, despite working 60+ hours a week. That's what none of these "off grid living" videos tell you is where, exactly, the protagonists got the money to AFFORD their perfect lives. while the rest of us work, and dream hopeless dreams.
Unfortunately this isn't possible anymore. Hawaii has changed their building codes, zoning and restrictions to prevent this from happening anymore. And those remote Oceanview subdivision lots that he got for $3k are now going for $40-60k.
wow!!! this is beautiful. i love it! he's definitely living beyond my dream expectations. i appreciate the great work you are doing as u post such amazing videos. bravo!
No windows on the side? You don't own the land. You are basically renting a 200k home and have to give the land owners %25 of the value back. This is great if you plan on staying long term, but it's terrible if you ever decide to sell.
I have taken several classes there throughout the years: carpentry with hand tools, beekeeping, orchards and berries. At the end of their courses, your brain feels like it will explode from all the information the instructors have given you. They have knowledge that we should all learn, both in the classes and in the way they see other people.
I've had the good fortune to have known David since 1961. We met as Seniors in Auto Shop during the inaugural year of Skyline High School in the Oakland Hills. He had a bitchin Chevy powered 32 Ford roadster with a rumble seat. I had a Chevy powered 33 Plymouth coupe, also with a rumble seat. We were living American Graffiti and didn't know it. Then he left the country and we didn't see one another for almost 50 years. Somehow we reconnected and we spent a whole day at his home. My wife and I were blown away by what he has created on that hillside.
When we STAT DAY in the upcoming 90° pole shift, because of the worldwide tsunami of 7,000 feet of an h2o wall 🌊rolling over continents,(🌊twice [slosh back h2o] ) only dwellings below 7k' ~ 1.5k' that are BLISTER-Shaped are likely to actually survive and become habitable again. There will be no 2 ~ 7+ stories tall buildings/dwellings standing ... ANYWHERE! Food for thought! 🍝4 🧠! .・゜0゜o゜・._🌴_.・゜o゜o・ ..__🌳._ : ゜゜0 ° o°・. ._🌲__
There's no way that top floor is 250 feet from the ground. This guy has no sense of size, even if each floor was 12 feet high it would still be under 100 feet.
Please stop moving here, mahalo. I don't appreciate this video and getting more to people to take advantage of our place, when most of our people get priced out. He Hawaii au mau, ulu ka lahui
